    • I realize this similiarity. Always full of theories and stories and saying this and that. If you got see before taiwan media poltics shows, you see the so called many experts...

anyway... i hope readers dun get sway into "govt sucks and is corrupt" mentality so easy by the posts in this forum. I myself comes from quite poor to average family income. My income , is also, well poor too, at 1 to 1.5 k by singpore standards.

Govt surely needs to have improvments and surely have problems. I do not agree that we have reached conclusions that govt is corrupt and stupid. These critics are just blinded by the strength of the govt. I hope that these critics are just the minority in singapore.

These critics appeal mostly to poor to average income people becus well, we have little savings so its tough on these people, especailly when you see others richer than you. These arguemnts are so one sided and chose to ignore the reasons given by govt. Instead, the counter arguments from govt instead propel them to confirm their idea that govt is corrupt and stupid.

The inefficiency and errors of govt is best to solve within, Where most PAP people and mid level leaders are voicing their argument about various issues within the government.

    • govt is corrupt and stupid theories are like conspiracy theories... these people can really become hollywood or bollywood scriptwriters with the amount of imaginative reasoning they have.

    • According to Tan Wah Piow:

So you think the PAP can't capture the people's attention? But there have been efforts since the 80's to get the people to be involved.

Wah Piow: What they are doing appears to be extremely progressive in getting more public participation. There are a lot of those institutions for the old and young but the underlying motive behind is still the hegemony of one party, which is what distorts the whole process.

If you challenge the decision of the state, you will be accused of all kinds of things. They will undermine you before you start.

The moment they smell that you have the opposition tendency, they will mark you and if you are really an oppositionist, then you will get into serious problems.

If you exist as an individual, they can tolerate you as an eccentric, tolerate in the sense that they won't put you in jail. The moment they sense (you are) organising, then you are in deep trouble...

If you want to oppose Lee Kuan Yew and PAP, they will hunt you down and wipe you out.

See whether you dare to oppose Lee Kuan Yew, PAP and their dictates or not.

    • Sometimes, and I reiterate, sometimes, to get things done, democracy has to take a step back.

To gain something usually is accompanied by loss of something else.

But but but the Lees have crossed over the line too often.

    • To TS specifically,

by comparing the PORE with the TW,

I know there is no need to read further your post.

Its like comparing mee siam with rocket science - totally unrelated.

You attempt to spread some message but due to your illogical comparison, there is no need to consider this post at all, so as not to waste precious time.

You haven't explained why the TS is wrong in his/her comparison. Just another brainless critic of the government...exactly the kind of people the TS was talking about.

LOL - do you think it is a relief for you to be in some good company with OM ?

Like the parasitic mushroom plant that he is, he will leech on you and abandon you like the typical mushroom when the host is dead and no longer useful.

Just like the Singapore Government method of leeching on the savings of every Singaporean, and leave them in their old age to the charity of other Singaporeans - while they extract their millions and throw away billions overseas.
