    • What do u guys think of china-made buses? Are they as good as european made buses like volvo and scania? There is this Yutong bus rego PA7672U which has been coming to my camp quite often, but i never had a chance to board it

Other than Yutong, are there any other china brand buses in singapore?

    • In Malaysia, we’ve got these as citybuses:
      King Long
      An Yuan
      Dong Feng
      Higer

But in Singapore, King Long is the more popular and reliable brand… esp when mated with 5HP500 (which is no longer in production)... whoa.

    • Majority are from King Long.

There's also as many as 4 units of Jinhua Youngman Neoplan buses awaiting registration. To be operated by Five Stars Tours as Executive Class coaches.

    • Of course not  - China buses's designs are all ripped off from original ones like European makers and also they use inferior materials..which means its a "mass coffins mover"icon_lol.gif

Same case for china cars like Chery icon_lol.gif

Don't be surprised at the quality of the ride, the Yutong I took in HK has an air suspension which made the journey a smooth one.

the yutongs in singapore have air suspension too. when PA7670A was moving out of my school (refer to the picture in bus pics thread), when the bus reached the bottom of the slope, it adjusted itself like vso's, b9tl's and kubs. (notice i left out DM3500 cos most of them cant adjust or adjust to extreme measures..)

    • I've tried a Yutong, the engine is rather torquey and the ride was smooth. I would say it is more comfortable than many of the pte-hired Jap buses.

Don't judge book by cover. I riden on a Higer before and seen up close and personal with a Yutong bus. Basically, I am seeing more Higers operated by private companies and more Yutongs being built for various companies from school bus to tour bus companies

    • Basic Information on Chinese buses:

Zhengzhou Yutong is the largest bus manfacturer in China.

King Long has products under several brands:
Xiamen King Long produces the King Long and Golden Dragon marques
Suzhou King Long produces under the King Long and Higer marques.

Many Chinese bus manufacturers have tie ups with other bus manufacturers around the world. Suzhou King Long has the Higer A90 integral bus (which is basically a K380EB 4X2N1 chassis with Higer bodywork), Ankai has a collaboration with Setra and Xiamen King Long has a collaboration with Alexander Dennis.

      Ride expriences:

The Yutong I got in Hong ong was nice, very nice, suspension was a air suspension, which made the ride comfortable.

However, the King Long XMQ6116G I took in neighbouring Shenzhen is crap, whenever the driver changes gear, you can hear the creating a grinding sound.

Nope. Neoplan uses Cummins and MAN engines.

Btw, i've seen King Long website whereby it states that the customer can also choose a japanese engine to be fitted, instead of Cummins. smile.png
