xBox 360 region-specific?

      hi all,

      just curious.....is there such a thing as a "region specific" xBox 360 console?

      because i want to buy a xBox 360 from eBay and the set is sold from the US, and most likely it's manufacutured and designed for the US.

      then, in such cases, USA xBox 360 come to singapore can play?

      because i scared later like region-locked DVDs like that.....region-locked specific to Europe, then cannot play in Asia.

      thanks, but if i buy USA xBox and play US-region-locked games on this US xBox, won't have any problem right?

      what about socket and plugs etc.? USA xBox 360 can also plug into our sockets right? and no problems with the NTSC and PAL thing also?

      1st question: shouldnt be a problem..

      2nd question: plug will b different. and also consider the power rating. US uses 110V while SG uses 230v

      3rd question: NTSC n PAL shouldnt b a problem(tested on sg set)

      one more question: if i buy SG xBox 360 but run a game that is region-locked for the USA, it can't be played, right?

      or can we mod the console so that it's still the same xBox 360 but is region free?

      because i heard if mod the console to play pirated games, cannot use xBox live....but then, only modding the region-free part mah.

      u can try modding. but warranty will be void and as long as u own a modded set, u will not be able to use xbox live.

      last question.....where in singapore sells the cheapest xBox 360 (the 20 GB console)?

      i just want the console + 2 non-wireless controllers, that's all. no frills like bundled games etc.

      also, it seems the xBox 360 arcade version is very cheap, but cannot save games? what if we buy xBox memory cards and save the games onto these cards?

      still ok? this way, i can save a lot of money.

      not sure about where is the cheapest.

      arcade version is good if u r tight on budget. it come with 256mb memory n a wireless controller. suitable for casual gamer.

      get the standard set if u wan to download stuff from xbox live.
