bro, $1200 for a roadbike is not cheapo, ok. u get a very decent one. why don't consider new? you can get used trek or equivalent for about $1-1.5k, depending on models.
$1.2k can get you a very good starter roadbike. i would consider new if i have $1.2k to spend. it will still be taiwan made though.
an italian steed used for that price point will be harder to come by.
regardless, i will still monitor the togoparts marketplace thread for wts postings.

true $1200 is pretty high. i went to check out a few bike shops already for fitting and stuff and realised i can get some pretty sexy bikes with that price. like the trek 1000, 1500, scott S50, S60 and Z90. but i thought maybe i can try my luck.. see whether got someone with a custom assembled bike that has better specs??? anyway, i'll edit my first post to lower the budget :)

not sure what is your size though. you should check those out.
