    • Any thoughts on some of the more dangerous roads in Singapore?

Devil's Bend is one and there's a fatal accident at Yio Chu Kang road today.

    • I don't think there are "dangerous" roads. Yes, there might be some tricky ones but as long as it is driven at under all safety parameters, there shouldnt be a problem.

I do think that there are reckless and dangerous drivers though.

    • Didn't some drivers get into fatal accidents even when traveling at 40km along Devil's Bend?

Sometimes you'll never know. Especially during bad weather.

    • how do u get into trouble at 40km/hr?

even the military vehicles are set at 50km/hr.

its really not the road's fault.

i would say more of a user problem

    • every road was built for men to walk upon. for every 100 drivers, there might be 1 who gets into an accident, and its not the road's fault.icon_lol.gif

Erm, i think road users and vehicle types aside, road features (surface + weather) play a role in accidents as well.

Then that falls to the driver since we are taught to adjust and drive according to road conditions. I don't see how you can blame the road or weather?

    • like that, everything will be dangerous, right?

      doesn't matter where.

if i'm at a winding road on a wet day, i'm not gonna take the curve at 160km/hr.

it really is the user problem. they should go for defensive / advanced driving / riding course.

haha. that i agree. but then, it boils down to human or mechanical error. ultimately, that is what accident stands for right?

Yea! Then how to blame road or weather? It doesnt work that way in insurance also anyway.

      really bad weather, don't drive.

want to be ultimately safe, park somewhere and wait for the rain to go... like riders do.

otherwise, its their lack of courtesy and common sense.

courtesy, if everyone learns to take turns and give way, you'll have gaps to slot into (try driving in brunei and see how that works perfectly).

common sense, u want to attack a bend with rubble on the road at 100km/hr with a van?
