FLAMINI MIGHT HAVE STAYED
If only Arsenal had won the title...
MATHIEU FLAMINI admitted last night he might have stayed with Arsenal if they had won the Premier League.
The French midfielder, who will go to AC Milan in July, said: "That would have weighed in the balance. It would certainly have counted. "I actually wanted to sign a new contract at Arsenal last July but it didn't happen. AC Milan did so much to sign me I couldn't refuse."
Flamini spoke exclusively for the first time of the dilemma that faced him and the frustration that now threatens the future of Gunners stars like Alexander Hleb and Emmanuel Adebayor.
Painful
Flamini said: "What happened to us after leading the League for so long was the most painful experience I had during four years at Arsenal. "It has hurt terribly to have invested so much of yourself, to have given everything, to have gone beyond pain and to fall short in the end.
"I hope with all my heart that Arsenal win the title next year. And I would love to play against them in the Champions League Final next year."

that's probably be the best way of putting "Arsenal didn't invest enough to substain the lead we had hence this failure" ????

well arsenal is the top earning club in terms of profits made. its run like a business not exactly like a football club. they are unwilling to share the clubs profits with the players.
its not difficult to see why, athough arsenal loses out on prem jackpot and CL money and sponsorships to the likes of man u, they spend far less. haha look at their transfer market spending.
Wenger rarely spends over 10 million for a player, mostly on youngsters who are cheap. Even theo walcott deal which is 12 million in prinicple, only made southampton earn 5 million due to the cunning wenger signing agreements over appearance made... goal scored etc etc.
Further savings are then made when these youngsters are established and playing AS FIRST TEAM members, with youth player wages. Flamini earns like 15000 - 20000 pounds prior to this season. an average player in a big club earns like 80000 pound a week, but wenger only offers him 40000 pounds then slowly rising to their final offer of 55000 pounds a week, which is a insult for flamini.
Good thing he left arsenal

in this case i think the business is done pretty straight forward . someone offer higher salary, so he move.
unlike cashley cole, who instigate a move even though he is still in contract.
i hope helb dont follow his football.
I think Helb won't leave... Wenger won't allow him to...

i am not sure what your definition of " world apart"?
in terms of financial muscle or footballing matters?
in financial terms yes, coz arsenal are not wholly owned by a billionaire, it own by various shareholders and minority shareholders.
in footballing matters, i think arsenal are naive at times, but we beat milan in champion league and i think arsenal are technically better than milan.
