The Manchester City skipper, who has already spoken of his desire to leave the club should manager Sven Goran Eriksson be sacked this summer, is wanted at the Emirates and could be available for as little as £1 million.
Certainly Arsene Wenger is thought to be interested in strengthening his back line and Dunne would fit the bill perfectly.
At £1 million for a player with proven Premier League experience, it may prove something of a bargain too. The Republic of Ireland international has had an excellent season at Manchester City and his early season partnership with Micah Richards at the heart of the City defence earned the pair huge plaudits as the Sky Blues started the season in fine form.
Arsenal meanwhile have lacked strength in depth defensively this season something that has been exposed by injuries to Sagna and the less than convincing form of Philippe Senderos, Justin Hoyte and Johan Djourou.
Although William Gallas and Kolo Toure are the usual first choice centre back pairing, Wenger is desperate to provide some cover for the pair after having seen his side fall away this season due to injuries.
