If we can travel to the past in the near future, then, why aren't the future visiting us now - which is considered a past to them?
As far as i remembered, time travelling is a one way ticket - you can only travel into the future, but not back to the past.
The trick is to travel in the speed of light or near the speed of light. Time travelling, sure, but its one way ticket.

As far as we know, time travel into the past is not possible. But that in itself is a very interesting question. What is time? What exactly is the past?
The other poster made a good point. If time travel was possible, we should be seeing time travelers all over the place.
There is another idea that perhaps we might be able to observe the past, just not affect it. That's in interesting idea but a bit of a scary one as well. If it were possible to look into the past, there would be no more secrets. That would be an interesting world.

Time is continuous.. As mentioned, it is a measurement of change.. There is no present you, future you, or past you. If you want to count it that way, its infinite.. 1 second ago, there was a "you". 0.1 second? 0.01? 0.001? 0.00001? and so on.. the list is endless..
Just like a dot. You magnify a dot, it becomes a huge circle. Then you make a dot in that. Magnify again, becomes a huge circle again. So how do we define an exact spot if it becomes infinite that way?
This will lead to the topic on life, leading to topic of religions vs science vs freetinkers and so on.
Just a side thought:
Why do languages exist? To communicate. Why? To understand. Science is mankind's creation. Science never invents things. Science never provide solutions to problems. Solutions are always there. Science simply shows us how to get it. Humans live life by logic. But logic on its own contradicts itself. To be "illogical" is to be "insane", "retarded", "not normal". It seems to me that, truth is, being "illogical" is the true freedom in "life".

It is the change in the position of the earth in relation to the sun.
Space is both a concept in people's head as well as existing outside of people's heads.
That is why people can travel in space.
Time exists only as a concept in people's head but it does not exist outside of people's minds. You can only do time travel in your head (in your own imagination).
When you apply Einstein's theory to 'time' it is not time travel but a slowing or speed up of time. It is not time travel.
For example, if you go into outer space at the speed of light, and it takes you 10 light years to come back to earth, you might find that you have aged one year instead of 10 years wheres everyone on earth has aged 10 years.
When you say that time slows down, what you mean is that the changes has, for you slowed down.
If you imagine that everything slows down and one day takes what previously takes one month, you think you have 'more' time? You think you have now one month instead of one day?
No you haven't! That is because, now, you take 30 times longer to type a post in the computer and you take thirty times longer to get to school. It is back to square one!
To 'increase time, what you do is to increase 'change' in relation to a day. If you do in half a day what takes you previously one whole day to do, you have compared to everyone else, two days in twenty four hours!

hmm i read from somewhere... by the time we reach speed of light, we will be crushed liaoz... if i not wrong the faster we travel, the more mass we gain thus by the time b4 we reach the speed of light we would be crush by our own weigh liaoz...
