not another thread about religion here......
some may say religion divides people but to a certain extent, that is both true and not true......
one example would be that religion gathered the warring tribes of arabia......
wars have still been going on with people of the same religion which cares to show that at times, mankind would not even take a look at who they are fighting with becoz of greed.......
i wouldn't say religion divides people.....rather, men divide men......

well... when i was younger i was told by parents to keep praying for it gives you assurance.
but at the same time, they gave me the wrong impression that, what you pray for, you will get eventually.
So ya, prayed for good grades, prayed for good health, etc. But i felt my quality of life was worse... because the more i hope for it, the more i did not get it.
so i lost faith in religion.
during my further studies, i came to learn that, during the course of history, people only relied on religion and how relgion got its influence onto people is during dire times of need.
through the course of history, religion has its deep influence on its people only when the society is suffering from weak government, diseases (plague) and natural calamities.
this reinforced further my belief that religion is just a make believe mechanism for people to make them feel enlightened.

Arabia ? U mean the shite, the suuni and the kurds or the christian, muslim and the jews ? If u talk about uniting, then the first emperor in china also unite its people too.

and religion is the easiest tool to be used because it brainwashed them and they lose they rationality and compassion. Religion also make non greedy men become warmongers simply due to their fanaticism for their religion
