      Hi all,

      Am wondering is there such thing as a extra charge payable to request for a room that allows you to watch the fireworks during NDP?If so...how much did you guys pay for it?

      there is no really an "extra" charge
      will just jack up the room rate during that period loh
      dun 4get F1!!!

      so watch at home on tv better.

      Nono...not just for fireworks.GF bday on 12th Aug, turning 21.Decided to celebrate with our close frens.So book to watch fireworks at the same time.Will be sibei romantic.

      FI jie,how can be extra charge at the last min?I secured the room at 400.05 le leh at Marina Mandarin,they can anyhow last min lelong one meh?kns siah!

      Yeah lor...i also surprise...cuz i requested specifically for a marina bay view room...and submitted my reservation,if there were to be extra charges...they should get back to me on the 19th and not today after I emailed them to confirm my reservation.WTF?!!!

      yeah, there's such a thing.......it was mentioned last year in the ST before the NDP.

      Marina Mandarin Premier Room, total is $400.18, they said that if that night got fireworks and if I wanna get a Marina Bay view, its approx $600.$200 more for a view!CHRIST!!!

      it's about right...

      you'll see that the room rates will be jacked up to 4 figures during the Singapore F1

      "Should there be a fireworks display on that day, you would have to pay the surcharge to guarantee the view. Otherwise, you would get a room with either a City or Suntec view.

       
      Should there not be any display on that day, whether or not you will be assigned with a Marina Bay view would be subjected to availability upon arrival."

      Does this mean that if I were to go w/o the fireworks...its gg to be the City/Suntec view?Hmm...I wonder where's the City view then.

      Hmmm.

      If thats the case, they would bill u the whole thing when u book the room.

      Not wait till that day then jack up the price.

      When that day comes, u cant stay in the room which u book and paid for.

      you book hotel with GF is to see fireworks or you have plans later that night?

      i guess the surcharge is whne you check in, when they decide what room to give you.
