    • when do you guys stop taking pocket money from your parents? when do your parents stop giving you pocket money?

im thinking next year, after jc? cos by then, if i enter u, school hours should be more flexible so i can afford to work and study, and earn my own keep

even now, i feel bad asking for more money from my parents because i come from a middle income family and i know they slog hard to put bread on the table.

anyway, 150 a month, is it a lot? is it too little? for an 18 year old. inclusive of food, notes and everything else. excluding transport

think again. flexible is flexible, but can you manage the workload?

    • take doesn't mean must spend all the money

take also doesn't mean you cannot do part time work to earn extra income if you want to

like other forumites said, better to take to concentrate on ur studies than flunk while thinking of how to make ends meet... if you guilty, next time earn more liao give them higher cut of ur pay lo..

you'll feel even badder if you fail to do what you're expected to. make sure the opportunity to study is justified.

    • whats 11 yrs?

assuming that you start supporting ur parents when they are at the age of 60, and using our garmen estimate of ppl living to 85, you would still end up paying for around 25 yrs.

That is too..I mean, its below average and I think its ok if it suits your lifestyle as a student...Theres nothing wrong with taking money from mummy and daddy.

    • Stop taking if you wanna learn independence and how to handle your finances.
      $150 is ok.
People who complain about anything more than $100 should just bang the wall and get a job themselves if they are so capable.
