I hate to say this, but it does appear that most singaporean man do not gallant enough...

I had actually witness an appalling incident some weeks back... was having a usual badminton session organised by some colleagues.. the ladies were obviously amateurs, but there was this guy who actually who made it so difficult for.. n he had the cheek to laugh when one of them fell down when she tried to retrieve one of his shots... goodness... wat a scumbag...

I dun understand why students are expecting teachers to go soft on them these days when they are becoming more wild and disrespectful... I suggest the students who complain so much about their teachers to go n reflect on their own behaviour first b4 even making any comments...

IMO, I agree that teachers should only resort to physical punishments as the last alternative... but going by how unruly students can be these days, i also think that it is most unfair to ask a teacher to back down and talk "nicely"...

students are forever demanding to be understood.. but take a moment to ask urselves.. hv u ever put urself in the teacher's position? how would u like to have someone toking back to you or shouting vulgarities? would YOU be able to tolerate it??

in the end, becoz too many emails pertaining to this matter were flying all over the place, the boss had to step in to calm the situation down...

but wat made it worse was that one of my immediate sup said that itz not meant to be a personal attack, and the work env is actually very open so there are no worries that pple are "backstabbing" others...

yeah!! i got supporter... let me now tell u all what i did..

i was so pissed that i couldnt just let the matter rest... so i wrote an email stating my side of the story, and couldnt careless what happens after that...

know what happened in the end? one of my sup even told me that i shouldnt reply, and that the email was actually meant to highlight some other issues and wasnt attacking anyone in general... if u had read my email, no way would you believe that the email wasnt directing at you specifically...

i mean, as colleagues, if the matter isnt too serious, i believe in checking with the person in question first before launching an email that will possibly cast someone in the bad light...

would like to see the general reaction of pple after i relate my story...

SCENARIO:
suppose u are new to ur work env, and u have not been skiving but doing ur job to the best of ur ability...

one fine day, one of the tua pais in ur workplace started an email to sort of "hint" that you are not doing something that u were supposed to, and the email was mass mailed to everyone in ur workplace... in actual fact, there had been a comm breakdown prev by other pple so much so that u werent informed... btw, the contents of the email were not exactly very kind, and it is cc to a lot of other bigger tua pais...

the matter was then settled behind closed doors by the person who caused the comm breakdown...

MY QUESTION:

if u were me, would u send an email out to state ur stand and clarify the matter again with all those tua pais, or would u keep quiet and assume that the matter is properly settled by ur immediate sup?

hey nikar, i thot i read somewhere that u wanna find a job that let u interact with the customers... got a suggestion..

y not try working at call centers, e.g telcos, credit card companies etc?? i can tell u itz non-stop action and u get call after call... it pays like $7 - 9 an hour depending on ur luck... dun have to waste energy carrying and arranging stocks, but itz quite mentally draining...

not really true.. if u look at some of the so-called "free value-added svc" that they throw into each of the plans, i would really think that they can remove all those and just gimme the caller id svc...

i m pretty sure u have kena calls from pple that u really dislike to entertain... so y make ur life so difficult by having to pick up such calls?

for me at least, the caller id is necessary to avoid calls from "undesirable" pple... hehehehehe...

well, like i said, when i first signed up with singtel, they also say "first 12mths free caller id"... but after that, they didnt bother to charge me for the caller id svc leh... prob like what FI said, they revamped their package such that subscribers under certain plans have the svc FOC...

must go see if there's a way to offset that stupid charges...

starhub since the start is incoming call free.....so does not give free caller-id loh....

for some reason singtel didnt charge me for the caller id svc since i first signed up with them.. wonder if they had considered a special privilege under their so-called "loyalty prog"... dont long-time SH mobile subscribers get some perks like these?

singtel doesnt charge me for my caller id svc... it has nv done so leh... so i thot SH will do the same... sad.... looks like i shldnt have changed telco..

anyone uses SH mobile svc here? juz want to check if u have free caller id svc from or not coz i read that itz only free for the first 3 mths… did u have to pay for the caller id after that?
