    • The ex-chelsea man, enjoying himself at Real Madrid now.

Arjen Robben feels he is now playing his best football since arriving at Real Madrid.

The former Chelsea winger has shaken off his constant knee problems and was outstanding with a matchwinning performance against Villarreal on Sunday.

Robben said: "I feel happy. Both my colleagues and the fans have encouraged me. I feel good, all this allows me to go out and play well. I feel much reassured. At last I can show my true game."

Manchester City boss Mark Hughes insists Manchester United striker Carlos Tevez is not on his shopping list.

"We have been linked with nearly everybody, I think, and Carlos Tevez is one that hasn't been so now that he has we will have the full set," he smiled.

"I don't talk about players at other clubs; there are those who are quite prepared to do that for us. We are trying to get players in that will help us, we are looking at targets that are attainable and realistic and that has always been our stance."

Deco says Chelsea will be his last club in Europe.

Deco told RTP: “I’ve been thinking of returning to Brazil for a while now. But I’ve realised I can still achieve good things (in Europe).

“I don’t want to return for the sake of it. I’m under contract at the moment and I want to be happy to play my football.

“I still have three years left on my contract with Chelsea. If I remain there until the end, it will be my last contract in Europe.”

    • Real Madrid are willing to break the bank to trump Manchester United for Carlos Tevez.

The Daily Star says Real will hand Tevez the £25m, five-year deal he wants as Manchester United were last night trying to knock down the Argentinian’s price.

The Spanish giants will do whatever it takes to steal Tevez from United in the summer.

It is believed that a permanent £32m deal was outlined in 2007 for Tevez when he left West Ham for Old Trafford.

But with the changing transfer market and credit crunch, United no longer want to pay that amount for the 23-year-old, especially after forking out £30m-plus on Dimitar Berbatov.

Now Madrid are waiting in the wings and will be happy to pay what it takes in the summer to land Tevez.

They are able to sign a pre-contract agreement with Tevez now that the January transfer window has opened.

Barcelona star Lionel Messi has delivered an amazing snub to Manchester United ace Cristiano Ronaldo.

Messi found room for Rio Ferdinand and Wayne Rooney in his '2008 Best XI' but controversially did not select their Manchester United team-mate Cristiano Ronaldo.

Sir Alex Ferguson was also Messi's selection as the 'Coach of the Year' but most attention will be on the player he omitted.

Of Rooney, Messi told the Uefa website: "I love this type of player. He has a great shot, good control of the ball, uses of his body well in the area. He is a great goalscorer."

The Argentinian genius was similarly fulsome in his praise of United's England centre back.

"He is very good in the air and very strong on his feet," Messi said. "He is very hard to get past."

      Messi's team in full was:

Petr Cech (Chelsea), Maicon (Inter), Rio Ferdinand (Manchester United), Carles Puyol (Barcelona), Giovanni van Bronckhorst (Feyenoord), Javier Zanetti (Inter), Xavi (Barcelona), Cesc Fabregas (Arsenal), Andres Iniesta (Barcelona), Sergio Aguero (Atletico Madrid), Wayne Rooney (Manchester United).

After beating Messi for the Ballon d'Or last month, Ronaldo is expected to be named FIFA's World Player of the Year next week ahead of the Argentine.

    • Tottenham signed Jermain Defoe yesterday from Portsmouth for just £6 million.

The Mirror says Defoe signed a five-year deal worth £60,000 a week – nearly DOUBLE what he was on at Spurs just 12 months ago.

Tottenham have got the 26-year-old England star on the cheap. They will only pay around £6million for him as Portsmouth still owe them £7m from the original deal and on their other Spurs signings Younes Kaboul and Pedro Mendes.

It is an incredible piece of business by Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy.

Defoe quit Spurs a year ago as one of the lowest earners and was sold to Portsmouth for £9m.

He now returns as top earner in the club’s rigid wage structure.

    • hey guys, i know this monday results gonna come out.

      here's my case,

i know i will surely not make it to POLY or JCs.

so where can i go after that?

i cant do private because army sent me a letter saying if i don defer by a date, i will do my check up.
and the letter also says, only if enter government schools, like JCs or POLYs, then can defer.

      so how now?

      anyone got any solutions?
i kind of don really like the idea of entering the army any sooner.
      beside higher nitec, anywhere else?

any serious suggestions will be appreciated.
      thanks

i cant even see mark's style anywhere, anytime.

Real Madrid defender Fabio Cannavaro has slammed Inter Milan striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

“When we were playing together at Juve, he told me: ‘If you won the Scudetto aged 30 it was thanks to me. Before that you hadn’t won anything,” Cannavaro told Chi magazine.

“We went our separate ways after that as he joined Inter and I came to Real Madrid. Since then I’ve won the World Cup, a Ballon d’Or and another two Liga titles. I crushed him!”

Cannavaro added: “For the moment if he wants to hold the Ballon d’Or his best chance is to come over to my house, as I won it in 2006!”
