    • Dear Mr Speaker Sir,

I am glad to return to this forum after a lapse of about 2 years. Over the last 2 years I had been tolling day and night over 2 jobs in large MNCs with a large percentage of Ang MOs. IN 1 of the 2, I was summarily forced to resign after my National Service without a good reason despite achieving superb results - above 130% of targets and assessment from my American boss. After he left the company, my division was transferred to the hands of an Aussie (apparently my boss for just a day) who appointed an ANG MO person who was supposed to help me oversee during my NS. "help" becomes an interesting and convenient word. My Aussie boss happens to be just 1 day being my official boss....

In short, if my bad experience is of any trends, many MNCs are placing Ang Mos instead of the usual locals in the past in the name that locals are not as capable. We all know capability is a subjective matter, not to mention our laws does not protect executive and management personnels.

Many recruiters were surprised why I had not pursue a legal action on the organization who wrongfully removed me. Who wants a prolonged court hearing where its your words against their words when due compensation was already paid with all letters of indemnity being signed (I have to admit I signed them under duress as I was sick and obviously shocked). Besides why the inconvenience to attend court, fight a legal case, spending good money on lawyers without confidence of winning when we saw so many failed cases, tarnished reputations and sadly wondering if I get suppport or sympathy from the judge when obviously our government who is so dependent on foreign investors.... Don't mean or imply defarmation, just fair comment- just my feelings....

In my current work place, the number of Ang MOs are increasing and key management positions are given to Ang Mos and foreigners (Indian Nationals..maybe they are cheaper?). Many of the decisions are based on who knows who- which is understandable except that this is now within the Ang Mo community. The interesting thing is that these people do not walk the talk but just keep talking without actually really doing anything substantial. Guess who takes the pains when issues came up. Bingo! the locals- Singaporeans! I felt sad seeing so many capable people being bullied and let down by their Ang Mo bosses who does not work hard nor smart but flying first and business class, taking credit and passing blame to others, treating the locals with talent like overly paid secretaries- arranging conference calls, meetings....reminding me of the pilot syndrome....

I longed for the days when the government was more restrictive on foreigners joining our ranks. Many of us have good management experience but now if our government's policy of getting so many foreigners into our country, I wonder why do we SIngaporean have to die for this island and how are we going to get to the level hierachy without the due experience.

It is ironic that I have just been given the National Service Medal and placed in Military reserve. As much as I am proud of what I have done for my country, I wonder if I am proud of what my government has done to us.

From Coffee shops to senior management positions, foreigners are taking Singaporean's positions. Sometimes by force (where I experienced first hand- without knowing why even till today- because I suppose there isn't any) and some by opportunity cost as well as who knows who.... what a pathetic state of affairs

Increasingly I feel like a second class citizen. As much as I appreciate the finances (in comparison to local companies), I wonder when the next bad experience will come. As much as I worked over time, over weekends, cleaning the shit of my ang mo bosses- with so many of them - I have 4 bosses- direct and dotted included.... I wonder why they are paid so much more than I am, with all the full facilities and expat packages, when I am actually the guy doing the job, taking the accountability and having to keep answering "what value I bring to the organization" when I wonder what my bosses bring other than talking or teaching me " how to suck eggs" kind of advice.

Can any politician or anyone out there bother to give me some encouragement....Don't try to psycho me.... as I am just pissed. As I lick my wounds, I recalled watching MONEY NO ENOUGH ...where the bak Kua company was messed up by the chao ang mo... I wonder when our government will realize the folly as much as the loss of national integrity and dignity as we kneel down and kowtow just to attract more investors to our shores.... where have the back bone and strength of our Lee Kuan Yew spirit gone to??? Our government is sick!

Increasingly I wonder if it is still worth to let me and my family - including my son to serve NS when he is due......I wonder who am I...... what is the meaning of Singaporean? Why we need our government at all when we are left to fend for ourselves...

So as much as I have a job...I wonder where is my soul and where is my identity and pride...

    • We should still vote in order to show participation. BUT VOTE for the opposition so that our parliament and instititions can become stronger and not subjected to potential abuses.

We need to check the PAP's monopolisation of Parliament, cabinet, economy and society- lets not allow the Presidency to be fallen to their hands as well.

    • Hi fellow Singaporeans,

I am sad to announce that our Presidential election is full of CRAP!

We have a President who is old enough for a state ""sadness" in a few years (or if not lucky, a few month's) time. He is running again (whether willingly or being obliged to do so), therefore preventing his more capable friends from running against him due to obligatory reasons.

It is a puppet institution with no powers other than those conferred by the cabinet and the parliament- therefore elect for what??

Furthermore so what if there is a or a few contestants against the incumbent. There is just too much personal relationship and protoccol stuff being said in the press. We should let the new players to have a try and not put him down.

We need a young and strong President- not one that is unable to make any impact and being controlled and limited by the cabinet and parliament (so well known to be monopolised by the PAP that the whole world knows). To have an effective Presidential institution, we need a strong leader and someone able to balance itself against the PAP populated cabinet and parliament. Otherwise we might as well not have an election. It might just end up like the last one (go and read about Ong Teng Cheong's Presidency)

So if all these factors put together without a strong presidency, this election is just but another rubber stamping activity, wasting the citizenry's time and tax payer's money.

So much for having elections- THANK YOU PAP- for justifying this rubber stamping activity.......

      So sad.

I think our garmen is ridiculous. They want us to have babies, want us to have family life, want us to do well. How the f--K can we do all these when they use the erp to restrict us.

Some idiot went to lobby the super KS and rich garmen to have ERP for the CTE. These people are super stupid. I suspect they are the PAP proxies.

Let me share with you a typical day for those living in the north with the new ERP in the CTE after office hours:

to save money wake up at 6 am
      left house by 645.
Reach CTE gentry with the heavy traffic in the morning (pre-ERP activation) before 730 am
      reached office at 8 am

worked all the way till 8 pm to avoid ERP at the CTE

830 pm still stuck in the CTE tunnel because great minds thinks alike.

      reached home at 930 pm.

Wife and hubby to tired to F--K. How to have babies???
Dinner have not taken- health problems- high health cost!!!
No exercises- no time to do.

What the F--K is the garmen doing?? What the f--k has going hiome to do with them.

Please support this topic to force the garmen to reliquish the ERP at the CTE between 6- 8 PM.

    • In the end of the day, the removal of race in our IC will bring us closer because race will no longer be a symbol neither will be conscious in time to come.

Indeed some of us may still hold on to our own unique identities- at home or in your own social environment, surely anyone will respect that.

However as a nation, we ought not to see ourselves in our own definitions, We need to advance ourselves beyond the limits of what our ancestors or our own beliefs restrict us to think so.

The removal of race in our IC does not mean a removal of religion.

Religion does not have national boundaries- everyone has his/ her own right to belief in their religion. We have to respect this.

However race transcents nationalities ie Malaysia, India, China or even Europe. How do we define intermarriages where there are inter-marriages among the races. Singapore will continue to have inter-marriages.

It is therefore necessary to remove race from our IC so that eventually race will no longer be necessary.

Some of you have raised the issue of emergencies. All our information are recorded in the national registry. We are very advance so much so that in the hospitals- your religion is known.

By the way, in a emergency, the utmost importance is to save one's life regardless of one's religion, regardless of the method used. Any sensible person will understand this unless he/she does not want his or her life which I will be doubtful (unless it is a suicide case)

Lastly I am sorry to have used a bad example ie Arafat on Juruselum. The point was not religious and not meant to disgrace the late leader. It was more of an example to explain that in life we all need to accept certain compromises so that all of us can live peacefully together. Please accept my apologies. I love any singaporean of any religion and have respect of any.

      Thank you
      Yours
      Your Future PM

    • Hey, hey hey!

Since when this discussion has become a question of exclusion of anyone?

All I have advocated is the removal of race in our IC so that we can focus on being Singaporeans.

Regretably some of us in this forum has turned inwards and become defensive of their own origins and even religion! This is disappointing.

Obviously we are not a Singaporean Nation but a nation of divided by race and religion. If any PAP or government person is reading this, please concede defeat in your failure in the last 39 years of nation building!!

In the end of the day, you guys are just so involved in your beliefs that you have forgotten that today is no longer the day of race, religion or your own identity.

We are living in a new global world where the world- ie earth or even beyond is our home. I am disappointed that some of you have expressed xenophobic thoughts and beliefs.

      Remember our pledge:

To build a democratic society, regardless of race, language or religion!

Stop these crap about your own identities- we are all Singaporeans, ought to be proud to only one nation or whatever your religion- SINGAPORE!

To forget this will render you regardless of your origins a traitor!

    • Better remove any symbol, words, description or anything that can remind or reinforce than having it dangling there.

Words and description is the begining of all dispute.

If the human mind is that strong, the Jews and Muslims would not have died fighting over a religious city- Jeluselum. Arafat would have agreed not to have part of Jeluselum to ensure peace.

The truth is our mind is weak.

    • Dear Fellow Singaporeans,

This is your Future Prime Minister Speaking.

In order to prevent the continuous betrayal of PAP against fellow Singaporeans, let us now petition to the ceasure and a complete stop to the PAP government's policy of emigration.

Between 1997 to 2002, our population has increased by 1 million people. The PAP plans to increase our population to 8 million by 2008.

      This is betrayal.

Effectively they are selling us to become second class citizens to the rich foreigners, MNCs, PRs and investors. We have a new colonist.

It is ironic that PAP has come full circle- from anti-colonist to neo colonist and betrayal of its supporters.

Let us now petition the government to put a complete stop to this policy.

We must retain our Singaporean identity, status and independence as an independent and honorable Singapore for Singaporeans only.

Leaders of PAP, it is still not too late to turn back.

In Chinese: Hui tou shi an

    • hi Fellow Singaporeans,

This is your future Prime Minister speaking.

Miong is actually very insightful and I guess let us not misconstrue his intentions. I am very sure he is whole heartedly a Singaporean.

His point is that we, the original Singaporeans, has been cheated by the PAP government for betraying our intrinsic special benefits as citizens.

      He is right.

Do you know that the PAP is increasing our population by emigration. The target is 8 million by 2008.

We are in danger of losing ourselves to foreigners and becoming second class in our own country.

PAP has betrayed us. Lim yew Hock may have sold Christmas Island. The PAP government has sold us to the new emigrants, foreigners and investors.

Let us petition the government to stop its emigration policy!

      Your
      Future Prime Minister

    • Dear Fellow Singaporeans,

This is your future Prime Minister addressing you. Singapore is a highly stratified society. We have been divided by race, language, religion, wealth, health, educational levels and Income. We are lucky that we are safe so far due to the tight balancing act we have in our society. However, being always in a tight rope put us constantly in a risky business.

I noticed a few posting with regards to racial divide in Schools as well as the lessening of racial interaction among our breed. Furthermore with more influx of Non-original Singaporean Chinese and Indians, we have further polarised our society. Not to mention that our current crazy PAP government is increasing our population via emigration policies - targetiong at 8 million people in Singapore by 2008.

Therefore it is with urgency that we cannot continue to see ourselves as Chinese, Indian or Malay. It is impossible. We are no longer the same as them. We are now Singaporeans.

The recent government action to reduce the intensity to learn Mandarin and Chinese seems to be in the right direction.

In order to ensure that our society could see our fellow citizens not in skin colur, race, religion or language, we have to remove the consciousness of our racial divide and identity.

I urged the authorities to remove race as a necessity in any official forms or identification. There will be no description of race in our IC or birth certificates.

When I become your PM, I will make it illegal to even mention race as a description. There will be no other race than being Singaporean. By then we will have a substantial biological Singaporean with genes from the Far East, the Atlantic and Southeast Asian, hopefully with some European blood.

The removal of our racial consciousness is the only way we become fully Singaporean. We have to do so now. The only people who can continue to identify themselves in their racial terms are non-citizens ie foreigners or new citizens. We can then teach them to how to remove that description about themselves when they want to become a Singaporean.

So from today- please support this petition to get our government to remove race from our IC, birth certificate, any records and any forms.

      Support the new breed: "Singaporean"

      Cheers!

      Have a good weekend

      Your Future Prime Minister

      Relevation,

I am kind of worried about this posting. It implies there is indeed a divide in the schools.

Schools are places where the socialisation of a society's goals are processed.

As students, teachers and parents, you guys need to ensure that the divide does not continue. We have been using the English Lnaguage for the last 4 decades and if this divide is still prevalent, it will only show that we will have an imminent danger in the future. We cannot affort this risk.

Furthermore it implies that the current PAP government has failed to ensure racial integration. We only have racial tolerance which can also mean racial "bo-chap".

As future leaders of Singapore, you people have to stand up and encourage more racial integration and mixture in your activities.

Singapore is unique and can only be successful if we have racial integration and even encourage racial inter-marriages.

Honestly we are no longer the same Chinese as China, indian as India and Malay as Indonesians or Malaysians. Its just impossible as as are already a highly Singaporean breed. Lets us not forget this.

Our race is Singaporean and that is the only race we have regardless of colour, religion or language.

For those of you who support my petiton to remove race from our IC- please log on to my new topic being posted.

      Thank you.

    • Dear Citizens of Singapore,

Let us all agree that we are now citizens and members of the PAP.

Chee Soon Juan- please dream on- we are indeed in the republic of PAP and not Singapore. We have already lost our Singapore citizenship since the day the PAP came to power.

The world- especially the Ang Mos has been laughing at us and that's why I wrote that we are fools 6 months ago.

Lets admit it we are all just too weak to go against the PAP. I elt lost and guess we have lost the fight against such a huge power. PAP has all the resources, ammunition, manpower, "sar-kars", "chu-aR", bureaucracy, judiciary and the economic power of GIC & temasek holding to ensure that PAP will shine.

There is no way we can win the PAP super structure at this stage of its development and power. I am tired and pity Chee Soon Juan for whatever he is trying to do for the people or himself.

Chee- give up and forget about. There is a saying (though it sounds kind of chicken but it i sthe survival of the wise man...)- if you can't beat them you join them.

Lets all join the PAP and await the day Singapore becomes a PAPist state with a PAPist ideology. We will then declare the legitimate creation of the People's Republic of Singapore (PRS) sound very similar to PRC?

      Good luck folks.

Besides, have our young man go weak?

I think the SAF and the Government have made a mistake to trial the NSF's death in an open court.

Though fairness is important- but definitely de-moralising for all NSmen, NSF & regular soldiers.

Weaklins- wake up and start being men!!!! Don't tell me you mums give you a canon and 2 marbles for nothing??

The China Chinese must be crazy to even think of invading Taiwan. It will effective send them back to the old dynastic era of backwardness and poverty.

Come on, the Chins are better than this. Anyway We are Singaporean and no longer Chinese - who cares about what the Chins are doing.

This may sound as if I am unaware politics or history- I bet you I probably know so much that I think what happened to China in the 19th Century is a result of themselves and our own ancestor's antique thinking.

For anything- the belief in Confucianism is the greatest failure of all!!!

Look at the free ideas and how non-mind restraining the west is. That's why they are so progressive.

In order to be advance, we need creativity and willing to change our mindsets.

If China insist to have war with Taiwan or even exploit its powers in the world- it has got to have a strong economy to begin with. After that they need a strong and legitimate political system that people feels belonged.

Maybe something for the PAP in Singapore to think about too before spending so much on the military!!!

How are we going to reduce the population ? Instead of asking people to give birth we are asking them to stop it now ? That sounds equally bad too...

I guess it is not to stop the population from producing itself if they want to. Neither encourage nor discourage- that will allow the population reduce gradually. This will be the best as we will allow pure economics (so call the invisible hand) to work itself out. Alternatively which is not encouraging is to limit childbirth to 1 for each couple.

second, how are we going to support the old people. You can say they have a lot of insurance, and they foot this insurance bills when they are young. But then that amount is going to be a bit substantial... I gauge may need at least $50,000 before they retire. Can everyone afford that insurance scheme now ? I believe that a lot of people now actually hope to depend on their children when they retire...

Insurance will surely help. It is dependent upon the number of people as well as the risk involved. Given the current high number population between the age of 28-45 years old- the insurance amount is actually quite affordable since the risk is also low given the large numbers in this age group.

I don't agree that we should encourage dependency on our youngs just as our parents had expected us to do so. Don't you feel that we were held back. Asian having subscribed to confucianism have actually held themselves back for the last 150 years. One of the factors is that we have to look after our parents in old age and that discourages the young to be more courageous and adventurous. For example- being terms as unfilial if he/ she leaves their parents here and venture overseas etc. Besides we have a much smaller household- the cost of maintaining the old is very expensive. It hard to argue against this being a participant in this myself. I would not want this to happen to my kids for me and my wife

What is the effect of a shrinking economy ? Surely since people are lesser, the companies will be forced to move out too. Even if some companies stay, they still need to recruit low end people like cleaners and production workers.

Well the foreign workers is already a phenomenon and a permanent status quo. That will remain the same. There is a difference between being a worker/investor here and being a immigrant sharing or enjoying our forefather's labour.

But then our high end people are getting more and more lousy since the selection is lesser.

Disagree. Today we have poured in more money and funds to our youngs much more than 10-20 years ago. This group of professionals will surely rise in size. They are not to serve the local economy but the region.

In the end will the average income of singaporean actually rises ?

Being professionals- their income will rise. Professionals as doctors, lawyers, engineers, sales and marketing, businessmen, insurance etc. This will effectively make Singapore the HQ for the region.

You may say more singaporean become professional but I think that may not be true. When educating the young are we really depriving them of funds ?

That's why it is important to start reducing the population now, so that whatever resources we have now- be it monetary or manpower- we educate our current young for the future.

Given our current high income among the 25-45 age groups, we would be able to be self sufficient in income terms without having to add to the young's burden when aging population sets in (due to the insurance bought). That's why it is crucial not to increase the population either via "foreign talent" or higher birth rates.

In fact the PAP is leading us to much worse situation by increasing the population. How are we so sure that PAP is able to produce jobs. I am not optimistic given their failure to do so since 1997. The rise of China and India are further prove of this trend in reducing empolyment here. It is only by reducing the population with a higher number of professionals and Singaporean entrepreneurs that we can ensure our value in this region.

Using reserves cannot last us for long. it will run out if we spend more than we saves. Actually the amount in our reserves aren't that spectacular... close to 90 billions but microsoft in US is already worth 200 billions.

This is hard to argue against, given that we also not sure how much the PAP has failed us - I agree. That's why we should not be spending too much by having higher birth rates but rather prepare with whatever funds we have to better educate our youngs and our old age.

Overall lesser companies and lesser people equal lesser Gov revenue.

Not necessary, as over time our better youngs who became the regional professionals will be able to bring back the bread and bigger pie for everyone. Opportunities will be abound and lesser governemnt involvement is required. The governement will spend less given that the population is self-funding and privatisation will have a much larger role to play. The government's role is only to ensure that the superstructure of the bureaucracy is retained for the normal operation of the private sector. So in the end will be More SIngaporean companies, lesser people, lots of opportunities, Singaporeans being the real owners of Singapore, lots of private revenue and much less dependent on the government and for course and less dominant PAP or whatever government.

Gov spending is still almost the same.
The spending will be lessen since privatisatiion sets in. More funds can be channelled to strategic items such as robotics. Besides with private companies being involved, these funding is taken care of. In the US, Rockheed Martin, Raython and many others has involvement in these expenditure.

Can they afford to buy expensive robots and unmanned fighters to defend the country ?

Yes- we can afford if we start now

In the end only land costs seems to be reduced. We may have no need for COE but then Gov still need the money :

Well if everything becomes affordable and privatisation sets in, the government's role is reduced, why would they need more money? Now is very bad.
Our current government wants privatisation and revenue as well- no logic since they have spend less but still wants more money- you know why? Because we have grown the population by 25% too fast too soon. That's why we are now facing unemployment and lack of funds.

So lets start reducing the population and do the reverse- we will have a better life in the future. Wink

Wink

Aiyo- so troublesome. As I say reduce the population to 2 Million. Then everybody happy. No more fights and no more trouble between men and women.

      Thank you for the applause.

Indeed I strongly feel that we should reduce population and yes I have though through the implications where the young may have to look after the old and probably strain the tax payers then.

The solution is to implement insurance policies that will ensure that those prior to retirement are covered for their own age.

Therefore the future generation will not have to pay for the old follks. In any case the current active working generation are between age of 25- 45 are better off and can surely affort these insurance scheme. I guess Mr Kua (the new Health Minister) probably has thought of this given that he proposed some sort of health insurance .

As such- this clears the concern of old age burdening the young in the future if our population is strunk to 2Million.

Also in terms of technology in 20 years time, we will be mostly in services and capital intensive industries. As to defending ourselves- we already have remote weaponry eg robots, remote air crafts and even remote controlled tanks to protect us. We do not need more man on the ground. We are a defensive force and unless we want to change to offensive, population reducing to 2 million is ideal. Therefore it makes no sense to have a large population.

So we need to reduce population now instead of increasing and straining ourselves as a result of it.

In fact this will also encourage original Singaporeans to stay back and forget about migrating.

We want our fruits of our labour. PAP- please get it done! Its an order!

    • The solution is reduce the population and max is 1 to replace 2. In 20 years time, we will only have 2 million people, all flats will reduce in prices, cars will be damn cheap, we will have more to go around.

During this 20 years of down sizing, we will have the best resources of our only child and the near perfect Singaporean will be created.

He or she will be the best to operate advance technologies and skillsets.

Our decendents will have the best.

Therefore the PAP should be happy because we will no longer need humans for war or defence. everything will be by technology and machines.

Every Singaporean will be happy and PAP will remain in power because it deliver the goods of big house and big cars.

    • Dear All,

Instead of increasing the population, we should decrease the population.

Do you want big house, big car, good jobs??

Then don't produce and in 20 years time, we will only have 2 million people with all the reserves to fund all of us for life.

      Dear All,

The PAP's population policy is a policy to consolidate its power. It is wrong and unfair to SIngaporeans who had worked so hard for this nation. We are now in a thread-mill. When will this end? It will end with our population reduced to 2 million and we should stop the increase and ban migration here!

Between 1997- today, our population has grown from 3 m to 4.2 m.

Look at the traffic jams and overcrowding, you know that our infrastructure is not ready for this growth.

Therefore the calling to have more babies is ridiculous and is an irresponsible act of the PAP. We don't need to increase the population further! We need more space and resources to run this country!

You have increased the popluation by more than a million (by migration and import of foreign talent) just to ensure that PAP is in power.

If the PAP's claim is right with regards to our reserves, if we reduce our population by 2 million, we would have enough to feed everyone through financial funding and proper education to become professionals to service the regional growth.

So instead of increasing population to add up the pressure, we should reduce the population to ensure that SIngaporeans have a better life. The regional economics will be China's and having more people in Singapore will only create more burden to our coffer and to the Singaporeans now. Look at the job losses and recession we were since 1997.

By reducing the population, we will ensure a better life style- better homes, jobs and cars for everyone. Our decendents will be highly educated to handle the reserves to make productive use of it and be professionals for the region and China.

Therefore the PAP's increase of population is irresponsible and selfish! It is utterly unfair to the original SIngaporeans who now wants to enjoy the fruits of our labour!!!!

    • Disclaimer: This is my opinion to share with fellow folks for purpose of discussion and without intent to defame or belittle anyone named or inferred.

      Dear all,

I like to propose a referendum to choose the next prime minister.

      1) Since LHL is incompetent to handle the SIA fallout, he should not be our PM. I am not sure if SM is still around to handle the time round. Due to the crisis and having no choice but the PAP government, we need a good and strong PM. Therefore I propose a referendum to choose our next PM.

People like George Yeo and Teo Chee Hian are better than LHL in terms of being cool and more competent. Even Mr Goh should consider to continue being the PM for the next 5 years. He is still so young!

Singaporeans should stand up and prevent the creation of an ineffective dynasty. A referendum is a necessity.

From my previous post, I have relented that change must come from the PAP itself given the "bo-chap" and politically ignorant nature of Singaporeans in general.

This proposal should come from the PAP itself, just as the change in Communist China came from Deng Xiao Ping himself. Who is the Mr Deng in today's PAP.

Come on, someone in PAP should be strong and courageous in preventing a dynasty from happening. Are you saying that you are worst off than what "the family" can offer? If that is the case you have to ask why are you in parliament and for who?

Remember PAP members and MP, you have a duty and that duty is only to the people of Singapore and no one else!

Besides, I would strongly encourage LHL to accept this challenge. If he wins, he will surely have the mandate.

And if he loses, he should know that he is not up to it.

For those who support this calling- please let this be read more than 10, 000 times to ensure that it happens. PAP MPs please take note!
