      Are electricity tariffs too high?

      The answer is no!

According to Temasek Review 2008, its Net Current Assets is S$2114m. It is a sharp plunge from the past few years, thus explaining the need to sell off the three gencos.

Currently, two gencos has already been sold to suckers! The remaining one, PowerSeraya, is in the process of being sold to suckers!

If the earnings of PowerSeraya are S$300m and the selling price for its peers is a PE of 10, the maximum price that PowerSeraya could command is S$3b.

Thus in a perfect world scenario, if the electricity tariffs were to fall by one- third, the selling price will also fall to S$2b.

Thus, in order to help Temasek Holdings to get a good price for PowerSeraya, even the EXTRAORDINARY government would have to do something that is dishonest and betrays its conscience!

If the EXTRAORDINARY government didn’t do something that is dishonest and betrays its conscience, the GST will have to go up as the EXTRAORDINARY government depends on the Net Investment Income (NII) to balance its budget!

The amount of NII depends partly on the performance of Temasek Holdings.

MM Lee is right when he said that if you put the wrong team in charge, Singaporeans would suffer!

A wrong team was put in charge of Temasek Holdings, which explains why Singaporeans have to suffer!

After knowing the true reasons, do Singaporeans now felt that the electricity tariffs are too high?

Do Singaporeans really want the electricity tariffs to come down?

If they do, they should render assistance to the incompetent management of Temasek Holdings and help to find some suckers to buy PowerSeraya!

After all the 3 gencos have been sold, the regulator will do its job!

dunno about your aunt but it was reported the boy's family were worried before he even tried that. and they just hope to put the whole thing behind.

    • i'm a singaporean chinese guy, and i do feel that they're more manly to a certain extend. but it depends on what you're comparing to.

like for me if i go anywhere i like to move around  or do exploring but when i travel with my male friends so far quite a few of the outings ended up like shit. everything i suggested i'm told its too dangerous or they're scared, can't swim(when water only up til knees), got insects.

once i had to go through a trail through a hill alone because the rest think insects would bit or would get lost(despite being told there's a concrete trail)

when i talk to foreigners(not just white) they have all those experiences i don't have makes ones feel less adventurous compared to them.

      strength of belief,

the mere existence of an unbeliever who dare to even speak in defence of their faith's enemy is offensive enough.

they tell you LKY is a bad man and believe strongly they must be pure and reject him and his things totally then you pop in to say you're neutral but still appreciate what he did. in their eyes your action not neutral liao. you're one law away from being burnt on the stake

    • same thing happened when i was on holiday but in reversed situations, mine was the table smoking. i'm a non smoker myself, 4 friends seated at my table . the restaurant we're at allows smoking and 2 of us were smokers.

what happened was we seated ourselves beside a family of 3 or 4 people(i can't recall if its one or 2 kids) and my 2 friends started smoking, it sucks enough to eat with someone who smokes, to make it worse when i talked to him about stopping because of the children and he made it out its their fault they're seated here, so i just finished my meal quickly to abbandon them for my hotel room and ignore them for most of the trip and since this day 2 years later i always make it a point to object strongly if someone i know smokes while having a meal with me, i'll just walk off if they still think its ok to continue.

i think that incident made me realise how much i hate smokers when they invade my personal space.

be careful what you wished for, it was like that over here smoking and some jerk liked to burn the buttons in so you can't press them. and all that changed after a new pest moved in.

somebody started pissing in the lift and after that happened no one bothers to deface the lift, no one burning the buttons, no one writting on the walls. no one wants to be in the lift with his ciggy. no one wants to be inside the lift any longer then needed.

its a hard choice, a lift full of smoke or going in in the morning and feeling that the lift's a bit warmer than usual with a pool of yellow pungent liquid covering 3/4 of the floor.

if jail term is inevitable then yes in that i agree but i still feel jail was unnecessary. since these are people who are so public spirited some other punishment could be given for first timers. like doing hours for charity work instead of jail.

and if they do not repent after being let off and try the same thing again, let them have a taste of 6 mths jail to feel the contrast.

i am surprised with this type of reasoning.

does the granting of scholarship really affect his decision to join or not to join the public service?  his family can surely and easily afford his education!!!  so why does he need a scholarship?

generally the rich should withdraw themselves from any type of scholarships grant to give the poorer a chance.

or the commission should not grant scholarships to the rich.

it looks better for his resume, and besides its unbecoming for such a talented young man to actually pay for his own studies when his equally talented family(LKY's words) have benefited from the state by the basis of their talents. don't sue me, that was LKY's explaination for having so many of his relatives in the govt or related bodies.

they did mention whatever the original aim, currently the scholarship wasn't meant to benefit the poor who couldn't pay for their studies, just to tie talented people to the govt. there are other scholarships for the poor, this is meant for elites or would be elites.

So I recognized that from the U/C’s vantage point, a “free market” in ideas was one where students were only free to choose the ideology that the U/C supported. Their teaching was like the Terminator. You can’t reason with it. It’s just there to kill the opposition.

Chase decided to merge the Economic Research department (where I worked) into "Public Relations and Publications" under John Wilson. As it adopted Chicago School economics, it was used only for rhetoric, not for actual internal bank decisions. The same thing happened at Citibank. Wall Street came to use Chicago monetarism only as lobbying rhetoric, not as real analysis.

One friend of mine who became a sociology instructor at Chicago told me that he began one class trying to explain whether there was such a thing as an ideology of the vested interests might be. "That's what we're here to learn," a student replied.

      http://www.michael-hudson.com

isn't ideology a vested interest by  itself? being an idea that is about moving in a specific direction? whoever starts it is actually trying to move others in a single direction?
