And i am telling you, geneva convention is a guide. Not a must. And i have seen so many modern wars and in everyone of them, atrocities happens.
Osama and his bretherens are fanatics. And i can probably name you a hell lot of nations that has the same kind of fanatical national armies. And some of them are not very far away from us. So you try to reason with them. hope i don't see you on youtube with your head cut off.
the oppressors have plenty to gain. One i can control the population by fear. 2 by restricting their rights their movements i can have an iron grip on the population.
And finally, what makes you think the next potential enemy is not going to be some genocidal wanabe?
And even if a commander is a nice reasonable man like you, what makes you think his men are going to follow his orders?
There is no such thing as reasonable in war. If there is reason in a war, the war wouldn't have started. diplomacy would have solved everything. War comes when all forms of reasoning has been exhausted and people become brutal.

And you are living in a disillusion that every damn person play nice in a war. you think mr osama is going to say i will feed you nice and well after he has captured you? What makes you think that people are going to hold things like the geneva convention true?
These are just guidelines. The strong will always bully the weak and thats human nature. And tell your so called civil occupation to the jews. Let them hear what you have to say about the germans.
Tell the chinese that they should have let the japanese enter china and see what kind of reaction you get.
tell the ethnic chinese in indonesia that their women should have just opened their legs wide and let the locals rape them.
You ever heard of the phrase give a person an inch and he takes a foot?
Rape pillage and destruction are a part and parcel of war. So dun give me that dumb idea of yours.
And what has 12 years of education given to you? Other then being able to write one whole pile of horse shit that is so fundamentally flawed that i can't believe my eyes that i am reading such stuff.
Look up 'civil' and 'occupation', and put them together. The Germans were remarkably polite, and even went to far as to set up soup kitchens and aid the French in maintaining order and civil infrastructure. The French started actively carrying out sabotage and dissemination of anti-German propaganda, which threatened the security of the occupying forces. The Germans returned the favour with reprisals, which then led to a vicious cycle.
When it comes down to it, a country is just a space where a bunch of people live, there's no need to shed blood over who gets what.
You also seem to be labouring under the delusion that any occupying forces would lay waste to Singapore and destroy all you love. Seriously, look at what we have. Only an idiot would destroy the lot. We've got a fairly competent workforce, industry, strategic location, and docks. The point of conquest of a nation such as Singapore is not to raze everything, but to obtain our resources. They're going to want to keep the citizens content, because having to devote massive resources to systematically repress insurgents is neither fun or efficient.

dude let him rant all he want yeah? He can't run from the inevitable so just let him say what he wants. If he really like to think out of the box as he so proudly proclaims himself to be, then find a way to escape with ns and dun get caught. If he can do that, i salute him. I have nothing to say.
In war, nobody fights for idealism. Nobody fights for a government. People fight because the other fella is going to kill you if you don't. You think that average GI in WW2 is really thinking of his country when he is fighting? Thats what ns is training you for.
Let me tell you kid, self centeredness brings you nowhere. Especially where you are going in for the next 2 years, your mindset will be your greatest downfall. But its alright. You have 2 years to learn the hard way.
And sometimes, instead of being miserable about something, try to work your way around it. You can't change the world, but you can learn to adapt.

Sounds like we have a hell lot of pple with pre enlistment blues.
To set the record straight...i hate NS. Waste of my time, but its something that have to be done.
If ns hadn't started, we probably be singing some other national anthem 30 years ago. We will probably be some sort of 2nd class citizens under another "motherland".
And besides, we wouldn't be able to enjoy those economic growth that we are experiencing now. Simply because ns gives foreign investors the confidence in singapore.
So just suck it up for the greater benefit for every one. Otherwise there will come a day where people will start talking about singaporean boat people running to all over asia.

ok my mistake. I wanted to write reccomend for banning but no space. Well, push the joke too far. Anyway, Lionnoisy , a few pointers i want to put across to you.
1. We have already specificly said no country bashing threads on the sticky. Whether you want to follow the guidelines or not is up to you. Dun blame us if your post get hijacked again.
2.Your method of presenting your stuff is absolutely disgusting. the information is incoherent, and often out of point. We can't understand what you are writing, we can't read what you are writing and we don't want to kill our braincells trying to read what you are writing.
3. When a person ask you a question, answer it. Don't start throwing rethorics and expect people to answer you. You are more of a damned pest then anything else.
4. Don't dig out stuff that had happened years ago. It is fine if you want to live in the past. We don't.
5. I will create a thread specifically for chatting and stuff, please keep the main forum clean.
that will be all.

Bro ,according to the international airpoer review, 40000lb is its max take off weight. So, not very fair to compare T/w of max takeoff weight of J-10 and to combat weight of J-11.
should compare the max T/o weight of the J-11 which is 73000lb.
Unfortunately nobody knows the combat load of the J-10. So i guess this will suffice. But of course even then, the T/W of the J-11 is still higer than the J-10 at max weight. So a point to you.

The Su-27 exceeds the 1:1 t/w ratio with reheat easily in an air to air combat load. The J-10's single AL-31F doesn't push its overweight body past 1:1 at all even w/ reheat. With that kinda t/w ratio, flying at high angles of attack is just gonna get it really slow, really quick. Canard or no canard, it generally shouldn't surpass the Su-27 at all considering it doesnt have TVC. I don't see how much more manueverable the J-10 can be against a Su-27...
With all this in consideration, I'm really gonna take their "hit the benchmark" with a pinch of salt. Did it surpass the real deal Su-27 benchmark or their knockoff J-11?
In a BVR fight, the aircraft with better acceleration has a range advantage (f-pole). Being able to break mach 1. for the missile allows its missile to hit further. Hence, in theory, the Su-27 with a higher than 1:1 thrust / weight ratio should be able to out shoot the J-10. Unless someone claims that the J-10's design is so drag efficient that it out accelerates the Su-27 with a lower t/w ratio... but from the Looks of it, it doesnt seem so. Otherwise, the Chengdu would be claiming that the J-10s can supercruise... and I'll be falling off my chair.
Ok, a little backgroud for ya...
Well, as of now, the china su-27s are using the AL-31. The WS-10 have not been approved for usage yet. So they are about the same standards as the orignal su-27.
Large percentage of the J-11's airframe has been replaced with composites. So supposedly, it has a better T/w ratio compared to the original su-27.
It seem to be using a phase array radar.
And despite all that, recent exercises indicates that the J-10 outperformed the J-11.
I wouldn't be quick to dismiss it, but i woun't be quick to praise it over the moon too.
It could be possible that china wants to focus more effort on an indegineous aircraft, and it could be possible that the j-10 is doing very well. Or it could be both. But whatever the reasons, they have halted the purchase of su-30s and focused on the J-10 instead.
Within the PLAAf there lies 2 schools of thoughts. The pro J-10 and the pro J-11. however recently even the pro J-11 people have been keeping pretty silent after the recent exercises.
Anyway, the way things are going, there will be a hell lot of third world nations with a relatively advance fighter jet poping up all around the world soon. When that time comes, you will know the capability of the j-10.

i read the article from the international air review volumn 22.
A very long article, but to cut it short, the central gov decided to stop ordering su-30 kits from russia and work on the J-10.
And the article suggested that the plane was developed from a previous prototype called the J-9 which carries a canard delta configuration. The timeline between the develpement of the lavi and the j-10 doesn't match, so the isreali connection was ruled out.
What is known, is that the WS-10 engine, has a closer resemblence to the PW-f100 than the Al-31 engines, which indicates reverse engineering from a cfn-56 engine of which the pw-f100 is derived from.
Thrust output of the ws-10A is said to be almost the same if not higer than the AL-31. But the response rate is too slow. So at this point of time, it is not fitted to the j-10 yet.
