"every year the immigration people keep pressuring me to convert to Singapore citizen and every year i ask them to suck my balls
guess i am the one with balls"
" actually i got a full expense scholarship into NUS, now serving my 3yr bond. got PR status upon grad
immigration always come kpkb to me every year asking me to convert to citizen. got 1 time they threaten to revoke my PR
i said thank you very much cos if they revoke my PR, I can jump my 3 yr bond. in the end they no balls to revoke my PR status"
"I know, I know, should have gone to Europe, UK, Australia or Canada to study but my parents afraid of bad influence from western culture - eg guns, drugs, sex but the thing is that i got plenty of sex in singapore also though i find singapore females abit tiao keh - most got some form of princess mentality even though they are nothing"
It saddens me to know my tax dollars are wasted on such a person. I begin to wonder whether how many more ungrateful foreign students are wasting away my tax dollars. I hope the relevant authorities are revamping their selection process that invest in such loss-making 'assets'.
My tax dollars could have been better spent on Singaporeans instead.
i think they should use the PRs and Fts to boost the private housing market or resale..

How many migrate to india?
How many migrate to singapore?
The answer is clear.
He should understand how lucky and well treated he is in singapore compared to living in india.
A singaporean going to India will not enjoy the same privileges and benefits.
I hope he is not taking things for granted.
But then, he is given all these to enjoy.

show proof or forever shut your cunt hole.
I believe him dude .....
though not the part about local women ....
certainly people are routinely offered Singapore citizenship ... "FTs" ... brazillian footballers, chinese ping pong players, etc .....
perhaps the powers-that-be, should recognize that things given out for freely, are never treasured by the recipients ...

i know for a fact certain PRs are routinely offered citizenship. I am not disputing that.
it is the arrogant manner in which he wrote that is uncalled for. however, i don't believe the `the immigration people keep pressurizing me' bit. that's why i ask, how many times? show proof.

well, today's headline in sunday times will take away some of the pressure. altho' it applies to private housing for now, i am pretty sure the hdb will tweak its policy in due time when the entry/mid-level PRs comes in for the IR jobs.
when you have a net increase of almost 2m people coming in the next few years, not all are the glitzy expat type. a large proportion will be those middle class folks who will not be able to afford private housing.
if ever hdb tweak its policies not becos they r concerned abt mid entry level FTs. It's only becos there is alot of unsold flats snubbed by we singaporeans....and now a lot converted into workers' domitories....heartpain for hdb

exactly my point, they can kill 2 birds with one stone.
if looking at health minister's stand, it's unlikely we wud lower the costs for FTs....so fat hope for them

Its a double edged sword. The govt need to generate revenue and it will do so at any cost, whether foreign or citizen .. So the Fts need to stop their day dreams about getting special priviledges that are existing for citizens or not existing at all.
i suggest that all these be tied in with the FT policy, citizenship ect,
i think what the govt should do for foreigners working in singapore is to let them stay in special domitories and generate rental revenue from there. And if they choose to take up citizenship, they should be allowed to buy new flats ect.
The benfit is this is that the costs of setting up such a scheme can be covered by rental revenue alone and once it is done, it will still continue to generate revenue for years for years to come...
Why are these PRS asking for more and more. They are getting
greedy with absolutely no sacrifice for Singapore. These PRS ARE STINKING FREE LOADERS.
They have already taken away Singaporean jobs and promotions ..because our stupid and no concience decision makers in the govt spoils them rotten at the expense of Singaporeans . Singaporeans together with the families (parents, brothers, children, sisters, aunties, uncles, grand parents..) made thousand of sacrifices to support our NS men and reservists (our sons, brothers, uncles, nephews, husbands..)whose sacrifices are worth hundreds of thousands of dollars, if not, priceless, while they perform their duties to make Singapore safe and secured and prosper to what it is today. Many Singaporeans have lost their importance to their bosses and promotions in their career because they cannot work when urgently required because of mandatory reservist duty. Some NS men have even made the ultimate sacrifice. Their mothers cried themselves dry.
How can these PRs demand to be treated like citizens when they
only run and hide when asked to make the same sacrifices as Singaporeans. Shame on them. They are a balless, shameless and greedy lot.
Do Singaporeans a favour - Go home! Where you get citizens treatment.
if PR want more privilege, just convert to Singaporean instead of whining that they are treated unfairly!
Not happy then either convert to sporean citizenship or just f off back to his country lor.......stupid ah neh
I am no against PR or FT, but if government can give them so much right...Please kindly amend the rule and convert all of us to PR status too.
PR enjoy holidays when election days (always happens on Saturday, as we need to vote),
PR dont need to serve NS (Citizen need to serve it and protect them)
PR enjoy double citizenship, if problem come, just run back to their country, there is not right that they will stay and fight with us.
PR grab all good jobs (suppose that PR is replacing low level work that citizen did not want to do, but now i see all old senior citizen is collecting money at the toilet)
These disgusting third world country immigrants really think that they are talents. They come here demanding this and that. If they are so bloody talented, why don't they go back to their wonderful country?
Disgusting immigrants, take away our jobs and now they want to take our homes!
I will never vote PAP because of this foreign talent policy!!!

Yah lah yah lah.. just take the women and kick the men out , yes ?
Go to Geylang, more and more FT is there..LOL, They are taking over Sg gals wife job too.
Our government doing so well to increase birth rate..cheers
There seemed to b many complaint against PR espcially over the NS matter.
As a second generation PR, I served NS as a clerk but later never kena called up
for the ten year reservist. I seen many of my local colleuages kena called up for the
ten year reservist n when they knew that I never got caled up for reservist, their
attitude seemed to change like turned hostile.
Hi,
I am an Indian and have been here for a year now. Applied for my PR sometime last week and came across this forum during some random googling.
Now, I must say that i am quite surprised at the anti-PR tone that a lot of these posts are taking. It is a little unfair to club all foreigners into the whining-lot category. I know for a fact that I am speaking for many out there when I say that citizenship is a privileged position. It MUST come with benefits over and above those offered to legal tax residents. Government's first responsibility is the well being of its citizens and that should be its priority.
I, for one, am here because I find Singapore to be a more convenient place to live in than India. It also feels more like home than Europe or USA does. That itself is a huge benefit and anything on top of that is a bonus. It is foolish to demand same rights as citizens; anyone doing so should first become a citizen and commit to national service.
PRs here are not freeloaders. We are grateful to be welcome in this country. I am sure there are a few black sheep, but that’s true for any community.
Singaporeans are very friendly people. I have quite a few local friends and am having a great time laJ. Let’s not make our relationship acrimonious.
Cheers

A lot of it is just misplaced anger and frustration at our own government for selling us out.
Bringing in real talents is fine, if they had put in proper guidelines and policies to protect the citizens first. As it is, they are throwing out the red carpet to just about any and every foreigner even if there are locals who are able and willing to do the job.
All this does is surpress our wages in an ever increasing inflation period. It also makes our job security vanish when our expenses are climbing (housing, gst, erp, etc, etc, etc...).
Maybe a hollow comment here, but don't take the hostility as a personal attack.
There seemed to b many PR pitting against local.
PR should never be granted the same priviledge as singaporeans and infact i think they should deserve less such as under a separate tax bracket.
they should pay for what they had been enjoying, safe and harmonous environment. these are not free, they came as a result of our time sacrificing for the nation.
i strongly suggest, PR who upon completed the first 5 years, if dont convert to singaporeans to balik kampong to their own country. 5 yrs is enough for them to know whether they want to stay ior leave this country.
PRs contribute about 20% to the total sales volume of HDB flats this year, twice the
amount compared to 2007, and this % is expected to grow due to the insane rental
prices. House owners who intend to sell should be delighted.
However home buyers will feel the COV heat and recent increased valuation.
To prime location hdb owners, Y not seize this chance to relocate while the market is
still hot rather than to wait the next decade peak period?
