candidates.The SG guys went for trails in Meet the People
Sessions,and junior posts etc to test their ability,
before they are appointed as Minister.
LHL took a good 20 years from MP to PM.
New SG Laws Minister Shanmugam took a helicopter
become a Full Minister directly,without taking junior
gavaman post,like Senior/Minister of State.
But he has been a MP for 20 years and proved himself
a top lawyer!!
