Aurora borealis usually occurs during September to October and March to April.
It is usually in the Autumn equinox and Spring equinox.
The occurance of Large magnetic storms are most common during the peak of the 11-year sunspot cycle, or during the 3 years after that peak.
Last aurora sighting is during 06-03-2005. Which means if we are to go in this year, our chance of viewing a magnificent aurora borealis is very slim.
Aurora borealis can only be located in the north solar wind, which means Countries like northern Europe and Canada are able to view them.
If we wanted to see the aurora, there is a tour package in Yellowknife might interest us.
Here is the website:
http://www.auroraworld.ca/english/tours/auroraviewing.htmlFirst, we had to buy a return air ticket from SIA to Toronto (approx. SGD6500).
The travelling fee and misc. fee is about SGD700.
And the tour package might be SGD800, so total expenses estimated to be around SGD8000...
Wow! What an expensive tour!
So again, who is going??
