If the company wants to increase your salary.. then you have to decide what is your ultimate career goal. If you want $$, then since company increase salary, then stay lor..

but cant bear with the $$$ .. and this job thought dont have much prospect ... but is doing something i know ... sis and mum both tell me to stay on .. hmm

Since you have already decided to take up courses.. and you got some reserves that won't make u starve to death.. then just quit lor.
Tell ur boss u want to quit because u want to upgrade urself, go for further study.. then see maybe in future, got chance u'll want to work for him again (dun burn ur bridges la) -
ah meltz, the best thing is to take no pay leave, if ur company allows.....
