Dear All,
I would like to hold a mini-forum for a discussion on the moral issue of allowing pastors to live a life of luxury at the expense of the poor.
Jesus said that one cannot serve both money or God.
One would only serve one master and hate the other.
but the pastors who are preaching prosperity bible have proven jesus wrong.
These pastors whom live in district 10, who wear branded clothing and drive branded car and who worship money, have these pastors lost their moral compass to preach?
There are many poor people in singapore. The money would certainly be better used to help them in their poverty.
I would also like to hear from fellow christians on the opinion on money and God.
If God do not promise prosperity and serving God means only poverty and hardship, would the disciples embracing the prosperity gospel still keep their faith or will they worship tua pek kong instead.
Feel free to contribute
they will worship tua pek kong instead

Do you have money? any assets? or Have you given all your money and assets to the poor yet?
Have you ever pray for a raise? or clinch that big deal? or a big bonus?

u sure u got the right photo? looks like a god of wealth lol
Hi there, I wish to contribute to this thread.
God is never against us being rich. Indeed, He wants us to live in great prosperity. If you read the book of Genesis, God blessed Abraham with great riches and glory(Gen 13:2). He did the same with Solomon, David and many others.
However, it is definitely an issue if a Christian worship money instead of God.
"For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows." 1 Timothy 6:10
This was what God meant when He said that you can't worship both God and Money.
I hope I've helped in answering your questions. I am not very good with the bible yet. But I can try my best if you have any more questions.
God bless.

pastor money is from devotees. the money is for church purposes and not to enrich himself materially.

definetly not ok. but these pastors got so many stupid followers willing to donate large sum of money to them so of course they will take the money to enjoy life lor
seriously... they never set a % to give when we go to temple hor... but u go church they tell u give how much....of cos they say not force one... but the peer pressure leh.... u go temple where got pressure?? i always never give anything one... cos i just go see see look look not to pray... hehe..
This reminds me of a joke.
3 priests were talking about how they divided their monthly collections to God and themselves.
The first one said, "I draw a large circle and throw the money up, whatever lands inside the cicle, I keep. The rest is for God."
The second one said," I draw a line and throw the money up, whatever lands on my side is mine, whatever lands on the other side belongs to God."
The third one simply says, "I throw the money up into the heavens and whatever stays up belongs to God. Whatever lands back down to earth belongs to me. "

Funny how some people think God needs money in heaven.
As though got condo mortgage to pay, car installment payments to make or monthly credit card bills to settle.
Pastoring is a job. A job draws salary. Church donations are freewill and it is the main income to sustain a church. Where should the employees of the church draw salary from instead? A pastor himself can also open more paths of income for himself, investments, businesses, royalties.. etc.

The main christian denominations consider priesthood/pastorship as a vocation.
Something is wrong when suddenly words like "job, employees, income, investments, bunsinesses and royalties" are used to describe religion.
But I am not here to convert the misguided.
Really.
