The church- a house of prayer or a business corner?

Dear All,
As we all know, churches are meant as a house of prayer where men seek God.
Pastors are servants of God who are meant to serve God's will.
However, in this modern world, circumstances have been twisted.
Indeed, churches of today have been degraded to mere clubhouse where churchgoers seek business opportunities or to seek the opposite sex.
Pastors , in turn, have chosen to glorify themselves instead of God, seeking to enrich themselves on a materialistic basis- buying landed properties, driving luxury cars, going to new york for christmas, flying first class, wearing luxury clothing.
Other conflict of interest include using the church as a platform to launch the pastor's wife singing career( you- know -who)
PS:We all know that the particular horse cannot sing. Her CD do not sell.CD sales are artificially generated by co-ercing fellow church members to buy in bulk.
Given the current state of affairs of the church, do kindly give your comments on how we can rectify the situation.

sure your 10% of your monthly salary to tithes will be put to good use if you donate 1% of your 10% to help the poor instead.

when push comes to shove they will resort to names calling and mudslinging like this to discredit you. but then that is the norm here. that is why I said their reputation preceded them, just like it was with their religion with all the bloodshed and prosecution of Copernicus showed.

Actually, it's the norm in many parts of sgforums. Sometimes it's encouraged even by certain "senior" posters.
