since CHC is a church cum business, dun think they can be exempted from paying corporate taxes anymore.

I trust the Government and their agencies not to take advantage or disadvantage of this situation. Let the truth be reveal.
Matthew 21: 12-13 (NKJV) says : 12 Then Jesus went into the temple of God and drove out all those who bought and sold in the temple, and overturned the tables of the money changers and the seats of those who sold doves. 13 And He said to them, “It is written, ‘My house shall be called a house of prayer, but you have made it a ‘den of thieves.’”
If CHC is really "a den of thieves" like how the verse said, let the church get their derserved punishment, hopefully the harshest punishments is dealed out so as to serve as a deterances to other organisation, while not affecting their members alot

but what can they do? challenged the courts? sure go ahead unless they want to be charged for contempt of court. I am sure there will be 2 parties, current members and ex members arguing for and against this case.
so who do u think made the complaint? its the ex members who left CHC. they know the inside-out of CHC.

i agree with you. religious leaders should face the consequences if they do anything wrong, just as any other people. they're not superior.
i remember when joachim kang was sentenced, someone made a remark that he deserves it, and a supporter said within reporters' earshot, that she would slap the person who made the remark if she could.
dunno why people are so blinded.

I think I've already mentioned this twice elsewhere, it is good that we know about such investigations, it shows there is accountability. Let's all hope the investigation is fair, just and transperant.

This is not a normal audit firm doing accounting checks.
This is CAD - commercial affairs department. They only step in if there is something really serious.
I have a feeling city harvest will finally close down. I have been praying very hard for this moment to come for many years already.
Thank God that the truth will be revealed soon.

Just to add though, it would only be a problem if the funds are not being used as they say they are.
It is a different thing though if church leaders are earning exhorbitant amounts of money, but the congregation supports it.

got... quite a few complaints liao. But then hor... after a while, the complainant somehow guai guai come out and apologised.That time one of the church goers say they were told to buy Mdm horse's CD at the church. After that, he say sorry on the same newspapers that he complaint to.
A few similar cases lah... complain and then say sorry one.

No need to close down. Just re-elect new church leaders if the current ones are found guilty and convicted.
CAD and COC jointly stated that church services and operations need not be disrupted whie investigations are going on..
