2nd brother kuan yu won countles battles for his big bro lao peh nd is an inspiration for his army's troops knowing that the geenral is fearless in the face of enemies far greater in numbers than their own. as a result this inspire the men to fight with bravery and put actions to victory. it is symbolic just like other believes who has a statuette of certain deity or great man (e.g christ on the crucifx for his sacrifice and pain for mankind) for remembrance of thie noble acts and worshipping.
Businesses, criminals, policemen (esp hong kong police) pray or worship guayu as a symbol of victory, wining every and countless battles, and metaphor in business. Just like god of war, its about winning, while the cause in thiscase may be neutral, can be for good or for bad.
so if pastor don;t know even very basic things about another faith pls don;t crap from the mouth.

I have muslims frenz, buddhists frenz, hinduism frenz who are afraid of ghosts as well. During NS field camp, I seen many people of various religions who are scared of ghosts.
In Christianality, we normally call ghosts as evil spirits.
None of my christian frenz are scared of ghosts and idols.
I have christian frenz who destroyed his idols when he converted to christianality. Is he scared of idols? I have never seen a christian who is scared of Idols.
Just want to tell you ghosts are like humans, there are good ghosts and bad ghosts.
My ex-neighbour told me she encountered a good ghost. She fell asleep while boiling water, no one else was at home on that day. Suddenly, she felt someone pushed her and she saw the backview of a lady in white left her bedroom. She woke up and found the kettle was dried and nearly burnt.

Hasene can be my witness lor, she is like me encounter Christians who are afraid of idols. If Christians are not afraid of idols, why they are not allowed to enter temples ?Unlike followers of other religion, we go everywhere without fear, be it Church, Taoist or Buddhist Temples, Mosque et.c. No fear at all. I have seen Muslims go to Buddhist Lodge to apply for bursaries.
Christians can also go buddhist lodge apply for bursary. Buddhist lodge give bursaries with no regard to religion. There's no restrictions.
My church gt ppl whose parents have an altar of buddha/taoist dieties at home, they also still live in the house. Gt fear of Idols? U meant they cant enter their parents house?
My church have no restriction of going to palces of worship, just dun participate in worship session. Other churches I am not sure.
We believe in evil spirits not ghosts.
When I visit my relatives house, their house got altar I also go in.
I also go temple to visit my frenz. My frenz works in temple.
Not every christain is intolerant to these. Just that some are really obvious and intolerant. That is what makes me hate them.
I go chinese taoist temples to visit my deceased relatives. There ash is kept there. I am not scared of anything inside the temple too.
Christians can go pay respect to dead relatives in temples too. Only cant burn josstick or bow to the tablet.

they might be too extreme.
bloody guy apologised liao
can they be morally upright for once and not having to wait for public outcry before they say sorry?
those idols or statue or whatever you call them, are symbols, not anyone or anything that lives inside. Just like they say they do not worship the cross or the statue of Jesus or Mary in church. so what is there anything to be fearful? it is self fulling prophecy. if you do not think much of it, it doesnt have any effect on you. its only when you are being taught or preached they are satanic or cannot worship other idols, that fear or disgust arises.christians is really superstitious in this sense, otherwise what is there to fear of?

apologised? is he sincere and repentent? dun think so. he apologised because its become a full blown incident and covered by the media. its all of a PR stance I tell you. so till this day, is Rony Tan still sorry and repentent? you make up your own mind on this.

There's nothing scary abt the idols. I never fear any Idols that I seen. As for ghosts/evil spirits what ever u called them, I have never seen any before.

dude this thread is not on idols. its on the pasta. if you have any comments on the pasta, pls shoot. dun deviate or digress.
Pastor Mark Ng was a Taoist. So, he knew what he was saying.
It's just a storm in a tea cup!
Want an apology? You can have it. Sincere or not is immaterial.
Xtians who converted to Buddhism knew what they were saying abt Xtianity too

The above good ghost story is to tell you your belief is wrong. They are not all evil spirits, some are good. Do you get it ? So, they can't be called evil spirits.
Why must they poke fun of other religions to make themselves feel good?
dun u find their world views disturbing?
Anyone want to make a guess who is the pastor next in line to insult other religion?
so a certain someone said we are ranting and raving here, but he didnt say the same for this pasta. maybe the words of the pasta is music to his ears I suppose. I reckoned he didnt think the pasta done any wrong.
