Its not because of God's ability sister...Ur willingness to allow him...Ur willingness to listen to him.. Ur willingness to receive his love.... So many are invited but very few are chosen.... You will receive the truth when time comes... May God bless you
on one hand, they want God to control everything...when God places restrictions, they say why God dun give us freedom...so now fairyfairy qn how come God no ability...then trust me, when He shows His ability, she will qn why He not loving, dun allow us to do/believe in certain things...how come no freedom to choose...seriously, is God controlling man, or man controlling God??? i really wonder...
i would prefer God dun change our minds but give us freedom to choose...betta than He changes our mind according to wad He wants and in turn we become no different from mere puppets/robots...

I don't think anyone is actually unwilling, its just that we need evidence. Should I try to sell you a box with gold inside but not let you open it to prove i'm not a fraud, would you still buy it? I can say that I gave you the chance but you let it go, yet I wouldn't be completely blameless in this situation would I?

what evidence? you need evidence to believe? how about evidence not to believe? and how to validate those evidences?
many people goes overseas and buy gold, rolex, birdnest etc....but only to realise later that they are fake...so who is to be blamed? surely they checked and know what they are doing (or at least they think they do).....
God gave all of us wisdom and freedom to choose.....and each has to be answerable to his own choice....no right and wrong actually.
in the case of Christianity, there is the Bible which is not a science book but a theological book that teaches faith. It is a book that God uses to "speak" to us but do we spend enough time and put in enough effort to listen?
it is like giving you for free - a box with gold hidden inside and allowing you to open it...but you merely look at the box and think it is a fraud because many too think they know too well......one look already know.....
or perhaps.....the truth is you have no time to examine it because you are too busy? too tired? too much hassle to open the box etc....
so who is to be blamed now?
If God dont exist who created the complex universe? Best poof God exists.
some will say the law of nature created the whole universe...some will say its the big bang...but wadever it is, all seem to agree that there must 1st be an uncaused 1st cause...whether its God, law of nature or big bang...
to happyinfo
its back to wad i asked b4...since everything requires evidence then may they please make sure they can prove their marriage wun end in divorce b4 getting married? unless they marry wif the intention to be divored, i will have nth to say...but if they marry wif intention of staying married until they die, then please prove to urself u will stay married until u die b4 getting married...

By choosing Christianity, you already disregard the thousands of other religions that might exist, there we need no evidence to disbelieve it. We don't need evidence to not believe in unicorns or pixies. No one says since you can't prove the non-existence of UFOs, they are real.
The idea that the bible is god's voice does seem like a good argument on the surface, but if it is meant to fufil any particular didactic purpose, the interpretations should have been agreed upon and set in stone. Yet for the millions upon billions that have examined it, thousands have gone to war over what it says, putting so much faith into it that they sacrifice their lives for it. For it to be truly a work of God, the message has to be an unequivocal one and not one that changes every few centuries or so.
The gold in the box, it has that distinct shine, yet it remains malleable to one's touch. Can one be certain that it is truly gold?

why would "By choosing Christianity, you already disregard the thousands of other religions that might exist" ??
you mean by not choosing christianity, one would have regarded thousands of other religions that might exist ??
it would be contradictory to says we need evidence to believe and yet don't need evidence not to believe....
and you need to understand what is the Bible about....from what you mentioned, you are clueless....
but i do agree many people have made use of the Bible to create trouble including false preacher and anti-christians.... but they do not represent the truth of the Bible.
"Can one be certain that it is truly gold?" - in this context, i borrow despondent's post to explain "if they marry wif intention of staying married until they die, then please prove to urself u will stay married until u die b4 getting married..." can you?
is that shine truely gold? if you remain skeptical, you never know the answer....but search, learn, understand and you will know the answer....

Christianity does enforce its idea of there only being one god upon its adherents, hence the reason for my statement.
If it is contradictory as you say, why do you not believe in the idea of invisible and intangible aliens walking among us on earth? You can't disprove it, does that mean that you believe it?
Do you then claim to know what the bible is about? Who determines if my interpretation is right or wrong? The same church who proclaimed that the earth to be the centre of the universe? The very authority many base their belief on has been proven to be treading on thin ice.
For the marriage analogy I would take it to be a gamble, since you are betting on the endpoint of a happy ending. If you would like to assume your belief in god to be but a wager, then I don't think a god (if he existed) would think very highly of that.

Well, given that it is a naive answer for the faithful, better then one who discounts any or all possibilities.
hehe

Perhaps your arguement is about religion being good or not. Well actually quite true, perhaps the meaning has already changed or affected in a way since the passing of time. Humans abuse it to furfil their own needs. Its human nature anyway.
so the point is why when it came to marriage, ppl take a gamble but wif religion, they dun?
the ''gamble'' wif marriage has high stakes too...divorce is usually not juz simply signing the papers and going separate ways...wad abt the kids? tink of the emotional trauma they have to go through and more often than not, they are innocent. moreover, the couple who were divorced. can they still go thru life as if nth has happened? the divorce can scar both of them for life.
if the reason for not ''gambling'' when it comes to religion is because its sth serious/solemn, then isnt marriage suppose to be solemn as well? its ironic that despite overwhelming evidence of increasing divorcè rates, ppl still ''gamble'' in a lifelong blissful marriage without the need for evidence? however, when it comes to religion, no ''gamble'' is to be taken??? hmmm....

so the problem lies in the belief that there is only 1 God? To satisfy you, maybe one should embrace multiple faith in order not to "disregard the thousands of other religions that might exist"??
otherwise adhering to any faith alone automatically "disregard the thousands of other religions that might exist"....why not the other faith?
it would be contradictory to says we need evidence to believe and yet don't need evidence not to believe......
for believing in God, of course we have evidence and are convinced. what convinced us may not convince you.....that's all.
if i am convinced that "idea of invisible and intangible aliens walking among us on earth" is real, why should i not believe in them?
my believe is true to me but may not be for you....and likewise, what you disbelieve does not mean it is false.....and vice-versa.
believing in God is not a gamble but we know and are convinced that He exist. even if i cannot convince you, at least you can say that this is a calculated gamble.....
just like your reason for taking a gamble on marriage.....you will not marry anyone who cannot convince you that he/she is the right partner for you.... it may fail but at the point of agreeing to marry, you are convinced it is the right choice.
so, it not a wager on God....it is faith in Him and faith in our choice.
as for the Bible, it is not a science or geography book whatsoever....it is a theological book that teaches faith. the teachings according to the church has not changed and certainly is not proven "to be treading on thin ice".... as i said before, many people have made use of the Bible to create trouble including false preacher and anti-christians.... but they do not represent the truth of the Bible. the Bible teaches love your neighbour.....
for me personally, the authority on the teaching of the Bible rest on the Church. it is God that we worship and not the Bible.
I really appreciate your reply....Yes its that the God we worship....Bible is his words...If you truly rely on God..You will not be Trembled by the false preachers or Anti christians... It is the spirit of God who teaches the "God's word".
It is the real love letter from God to his children.... All the words are true....
Even I got into the trap of false preachers...They have given false connectors and introduce a new thing in Bible....Some Anti christians offered me another book which helps us to understand the Bible clearly..But I rejected them saying that Bible is more than enough and it has the answers for all my questions....
There is no preacher is required more than the "Holy Spirit".. He will make you understand everything God said in "Bible"....
