There's no reincarnation/rebirth in Christians teachings.

This thread does not agree with Christian teachings.

Religious Insights Concerning Jesus
Jesus teaching his disciples about the reincarnation of Elijah as John the Baptist:
are you acknowledging that jesus taught reincarnation and reincarnation is real ?
Jesus constantly taught the importance of good works of love to achieve spiritual growth. The idea that people achieve at-one-ment merely by giving verbal assent to Jesus, or by worshipping Jesus, or by merely believing in his name, or by believing in his work on the cross, is a gross distortion of his teachings. Having faith in Christ alone means nothing. Having the faith of Christ means to become like Jesus through living a life of love and good works toward everyone.
are you acknowledging that faith alone is not good enough to enter heaven. from the above sentence, it says by good works and not just faith. if yes, i think there are many christians here have the wrong concept of christianity.
so, in christianity :
1) believe in reincarnation or no ?
2) by good works or by faith alone can gain entry to heaven ?
can TS clarify ?
No belief in rebirth or reincarnation.
Secondly by faith can go heaven not Good works.
Originally posted by Fairyfairy86:i went to search "christians near death experience' to read on other accounts. all have some similarities. they were told of reincarnation and many levels of heavens. it is in line with early christianity which taught reincarnation. just to share my thoughts, nothing else.
Heavens with many levels have no biblical basis/ proof.
Reincarnation or rebirth is not biblical too, so christians dont believe in rebirth or reincarnation.

By faith we are saved but good works are still important but it does not save us.
Because a true believer will produce good works. But it does not save. We are saved by faith.
Yup true Christians does not believe in rebirth or reincarnation.
One more example, True christians obey and take the commandments seriously. But we are not saved by obeying the commandments but obeying commandements are still important.
After all we are saved by faith not by obeying or observing the law.
If u want to use the method of obeying commandments to save urselves, just breaking one commandment once in ur life are u are a law breaker and that's it. U go to hell.
If u wanna use commandment to go to heaven, u must obey the commandments perfectly. Once u lie or scold vulgarities when u r angry, that's it u go to hell.
christianity has had its fair share of corrupted teachings...catholics have acknowledged that some of their early popes were corrupted in their teachings...to noe wad christianity realli teaches, we need to searchthe sacred text which is the bible...the bible has no records of reincarnation, rebirth or that heaven has many different levels...like i said before, although christians may be divided in certain doctrines, we agree on the fundamental teachings...the teachings of salvation by grace and not good works, virgin birth, Holy Trinity and having only one life(in other words no reincarnation) are some of the fundamentals christians across the world will agree upon...
moreover fairyfairy, i have said this in my previous post that the source and reliability of the information you read has to be questioned...juz as how non-christians question christians on the reliability and source of their faith/information...
to stardust
agreed. to add on, however with the sinful nature that every human being has...its near impossible to keep the 10 commandments perfectly...hence, all humans are not going to make it to heaven if we are to be judged by good works...

Yah lor unless u perfect in keeping the commandments so far all cannot cos all sure lie. Who never lie before.
Even for children, children gt original sin so some church believes children who died after a few days of birth when they are born still go hell.

Wad about children who died early? Original sin makes them go to hell? What happens to children who died after a few days after birth as unbelievers is abit contraversial. Wad do u think?
Wad abt 12 year old chidlren who died as unbeliever?
ok...this one is a theological question...it depends on whether u believe in predestination or freewill? do u want me to give u both answers or answer according to what u believe? i would prefer to take this offline though...

what about those who lived in jungles or tribes (newspaper lately reported that there was a tribe just discovered by the authorities in malaysia) which had no access to christianity or never had a chance to know christianity ? it is not their fault for not knowing christianity. do they go to hell ?
like i said, this is a theological question which i would prefer to take offline...see if the other christians wanna reply u...cos such qns require proper discussions...
but i can give u a clue tat every human is born with the original sin of adam...and u cannot say wads adam sin got to do wif us cos remember i told u that in the teaching of creation, most if not all things are related to one another somehow? this teaching though requires further serious discussion/sharing...

corrupt pope yes.....corrupt teachings? NO...

no lah....we are saved by God.....and God only.
faith = believed in God
believe in God = follow His commendment
follow His commendment = love your neighbour
love your neighbour = have good works
have good works = have faith
no good works = no faith
In the same way faith, if good deeds do not go with it, is quite dead.
So you can see that his faith was working together with his deeds; his faith became perfect by what he did.
there are no christians who can call themselves one with doing good works and a truely converted christians will have doing good works as part of his natural self....

what do you think the Bible is saying about this? More importantly, what answer you want to hear ?
going to hell or there are chances for salvation? you choose...

This is theological question. This still debating in christian world.

We are saved by God's grace through faith in Jesus Christ.
to complete the sentence: we are saved by God's grace through faith in Jesus Christ FOR good works...we are NOT saved BY good works.
I think fairy fairy source is unreliable. I highly doubt it.

Yep. Good works does not play a role in salvation.
the family concept which i brought up last week explains the salvation by grace teaching quite well...pity fairyfairy doesnt see the link...
FairyFairy y dun u admit u r a sinner?
U think u r perfect as a human. All humans have sinned against God in actions speech and thoughts. U dun have evil thoughts?
All of mankind need Jesus, only he can provide a solution to sins.
