In addition, CHC is another church that technically cannot be called a church
I shall resign from this argument and
this forum is for christians but not catholics
hi sms and mrt.. how on earth did you end up with cute id?? sbs and smrt.. are you working there??
no point arguing whether catholics are christians or not.. the fact is catholics are christians.... they are believers of christ..Period. I can't blame you for saying we are not christians.. cos what you have been taught by yr elders or pastors or any church leaders on catholics is not correct. To you i say rather than saying than catholics are not christians.. i would suggest you spread the gospel to non believers.. minus the part that catholics are not christians. Also, to my fellow catholics..leave this public transport alone.. no point reason out with him or her since he or she has make up hisor her mind on what we are.. .. just pray for him or her..
or are you trying to tell us to go to the catholic forum.. and not this forum?? The truth is we can go to both forums..
God bless!!

nope....
i shall also respect your view of catholics as christians, as is also no point from proving otherwise. People of faith is the hardest to move. Just like you may say that i am psychoed by my session of beliving that catholics are not christians, i shall also say it to you that catholics are psychoed by their fathers from beliving that they are christians.
Period.
And the twain shalt never meet, even though they believed in the same one god and instituted by the same man descended from god.

It's not really a misconception. Protestants do not like to be named protestants. Cuz the name Protestant or Protestantism clearly defines that they are the ones who broke away from the original church (by protesting).Ask those ppl lor... if Catholics (the original Christians) are the cults, what does this make the Protestants (whose church was only founded 500 years ago)?
hit the nail on the head
its irony now he is saying CHC isnt a church
Catholic Church is already the largest denomination in the world
if one day Catholic Church is in communion with the Eastern Orthodox, as per Pope John Paul II's wishes
it makes protestantism more and more obviously non-mainstream and heretical

Then let unbiased human history shed some light on this. Wouldn't you want to know how Christianity started and how the early Christians were like before all the different denominations came about?
And the Bible that you and I place so much faith in - wouldn't you want to know how it originally came about?

we are not psychoed by or Priest or Father I ( is that what you refer to??) .. We were taught in catechism class on God, Jesus Christ, salvation..Mary, the saints and the teachings of the church.. eg sacraments ..
If you have been to a catholic mass.. You would have seen the prayers in the mass. is always addressed to God either in the name of Heavenly Father or Jesus or Lord most of the time..google yr search on the catholic mass on youtube.. and see for yrself.. the best is google Fr John Corapi .. one of the quite well known priest in US whose homily is often good and clear on the teachings of the church and on God..
God Bless !!
Fellow brothers and sisters, just wanna say that this is possibly the first time on this forum that I felt so affirmed by all your fervant but gentle witnessing! It's never an easy road, but it's great to know that we are not alone in this journey :)
May He bless each of you abundantly and may you continue to walk with Him by walking with our other brothers and sisters out there! :)

Admittedly, the Catholic Mass can be quite strange for those who experience it for the first time. For the longest time, I myself didn't know what was going on in Mass until quite recently when I realised that every word, act, gesture, posture and item in the Mass has such a significant meaning behind it.
This link has an excellent explanation of the Mass, the highest form of worship one can offer to God (the Mass itself dates back more than 1,000 years) - www.davidmacd.com/catholic/mass.htm

Catholism is a religion that's very hard to understand.

Only to those who enter with a sceptical mind

Not necessarily so. We must be mindful that for many who may have learnt that Christianity is simply 'between God and me', Catholicism can be tough to understand at first.
Important to explain and witness the faith in a gentle and charitable manner to our fellow Christian brothers and sisters out there :)

Interesting, what made you decide on the Catholic Church in the end?
