My view is simple. People always praise God for miracles and blame disasters on the Devil/Satan.
God is the personification of Goodness.
The Devil is the personification of Evil.
Notice that one lesser 'o' from 'good' is 'god'.
One more 'd' to 'evil' is 'devil'.
Seems like all this blaming and praising is just to make things simpler in the minds of people who are trying very hard to come to terms with unexpected events in their lives.
