are they really "victims" if they give him the money he asks for willingly?

Yah willingly unless point a gun to ask for money.
Kong Hee is a greedy pastor, overly money orientated. In fact, all the mega churches focus so much on money. They love money so much.
The love of money is the root of all evils, this is stated in the bible. Money alone is not evil but it is the love of money to the extreme to cause them to sin is evil.

What are you insinuating, lunatic?
why must a religious institution be so financially strong? these respected figures should never be subjected to such scandals. Monks driving Mercs, Pastors earning million-dollar salaries, Sai Baba stores gold bars away like a shrewd investor, has it become a lucrative career already?

Some Singaporeans are unwillingly contributing to the CPF. So do they meet the definition of "victims" ?
As long they do not point a gun at u to force u to give money It's OK.
It's ok to encourage giving to the church.

Only siao lang like you will encourage the act of Kong Hee to ask for money, never have any greed problem in your mind.
I am against his way of asking for money. Other Christians who are mature and sound in their mind are against it. It is very unchristianlike. Jesus never encourage greed, GREED IS A SIN. And by encouraging Kong Hee's way of asking for money, you are also commiting a sin, siao lang!

KONG HEE is a SALESMAN FOR GREED. He is abusing God's name to further his money kingdom. Only mad person like Almond Cookies is supporting his greed for asking for money.
Lee Hsien Loong should consider offering Kong Hee a ministerial position to help him further PAP's money kingdom. Kong Hee is a talented salesman in promoting greed this fits the agenda of PAP. By engaging kong hee as a minister PAP can get more revenue from the church to fill up all their pockets.

PAP already sucking tonnes of money from ERP gantries, COE, Casino levies ... ...
They don't need any helper.
True Christians cannot care about money. Mega Churches (most of them charasmatics) says that if u do not give, u wil not receive a 100-fold. This is fraudulent and playing on people's greed.
The true chrisian will say that, in this dispensaion of grace, people who live holy lives face persecution, not material accumulation. This is confirmed in 1st Timothy very clearly.
Hence if true believers are not facing adverse persecution now, it is a gift of God's grace, nothing to celebrate about. When we believe in Christ, we are blessed spiritually. Materially however, it is up to God to decide.
The true believer's walk is heavenly. The Children of Israel's walk is earthly. That is why if they turn to God, they receive material blessings. If they falter, they will receive judgement. In Christ, heavenly riches await us. Earth means nothing to us.

In the Christianity context, I absolutely agree with you.
I still don't get how unemployed people are willing to give $1400 a year when they have no income coming in.

I have one soul from Kong Hee's church told me he has monthly allowance from the family though unemployed, with this he donates or gives tithes.
There are a lot of rich people in Kong Hee's church.
many churches are already so rich. i dont understand why they choose to give to rich churches who sit on the money instead of giving to needy people.
really really dont understand!!
btw a lot people love god (whom they cant see) but dont love people (whom they see everyday).

Would you give $1400 to a church if you were unemployed?

if you tell them they can't see god, they will reply you that they can see, feel, and live with god inside them.
Just like love.. u can feel it.. u know its there but u cant see it.
Yes true believers in Christ who live holy lives on earth are promised PERSECUTION, simply because our outlook is heavenly not earthly. Despite my wrangling about unfair politics in Singapore, I am happy that there is currently no persecution in Singapore. Since the spiritual lives of true believers is the most important aspect of their walk on earth, I should actually be grateful to be living here, rather than complaining about all the political and social ills that exist in Singapore. The suffering we receive is for a moment, but imagine an eternity of being in God's presence and in a place where there are no tears and heartache.

Try being a christian in Muslim countries like Middle east. Their persecution is really great. But I am sure their reward is very big too.
