Does the Christian God lie to/deceive humans

- Before the religious get offended, be assured that I am sincerely looking for answers too.
- Question 1 - I have heard all of my christian friends tell me that the Christian God is not capable of lying because lying is a sin. But many verses in the bible seem too indicate otherwise. Below verses indicate that the Christian God did deceive or lie to humans or send someone to lie on his behalf, which is also indirect lying.
- Question 2 - Some christians tell me that because he's God, he can do anything he wants to or deem fit. Does that mean he can also break his own commandment about lying?

If you got a medical condition, do you go to the coffee shop and ask for information, and when you get bullshit, conclude that all doctors are quacks?
Go to a church and ask the reverend.

I use the term "Christian god" like how I would say Hindu god, Muslim god or Greek god.

It is common sense to get the proper answer from a proper place. But as they say common sense is not very common.
I don't think you are looking for an answer. You just want to spew some venom from inside yourself.

God is universal. Different groups of people have different names for the same God. Therefore, when you repeatedly say the Christian God lies, you are attacking rather than seeking an answer. Also when I point you to a place to get the answer you retort, which only show that it is not an answer that you want.
You quote the Bible, so you must have read it, why do you just take one line out? Do you know the term "out of context"?

I am trying to be objective when I say "muslim god", "christian god" and "greek god" because all these gods have different characteristics and "personalities". All these gods also command (if they're real) their followers to do very different things.
To lump all these gods as "one universal god" is to be lazy and ignorant. You are not looking into the details and studying the specific religion/god carefully. You shouldn't lump everything into "one god" as you wish. You are not respecting the individual religion.
I did not say that the Christian god lies. I TOOK IT from the bible. If you would read the bible verses i posted carefully, you would see that those bible verse do indicate that the Christian god did lie in some way or another. (By the way lying isn't necessary bad. So I don't know why you're so defensive?)
Whether I took it in or out of context, my question is - WHY do the verses seem to indicate that the Christian god lies? Which you have failed to answer.

Study them carefully and you'll find them very different. There's beauty in diversity. Instead of lumping them all into one, see them as different gods.

From the teaching, christians are discouraged to use their intellect when worshipping God.
For what reasons? Cannot deny when one is without intellect, christians will not question God but obey without doubt.

Lol. It's kinda true. When I was a christian a few years ago, my pastor always discouraged me from asking. Whenever he couldn't answer my questions, he would say exactly "His ways are higher than yours so don't question"
Ok he might be a very nice person but that's just a lousy excuse for not knowing how to answer my question.

SOME FOOD FOR THOUGHT................... The christian, muslim....etc alike, always defend that any verses talking about violence and evil acts in their holy books should not be taken literally and must be understood in context. They always say that these verses are not encouraging violence or evil, but rather just as metaphors for something good. On the other hand, I have never heard them saying that those verses talking about good and nice things must be interpreted with care. The BIG QUESTION here is that could the bad verses are in reality meant to be taken literally, while the good verses are to be understood as just metaphor only. I have also often heard these people saying that non-christian and non-muslim...etc have intentionally taken the evil verses out of context with the aim to mis-represent the holy book. Another BIG QUESTION is that is it also equally true that the christians and....etc are taking the good verses out of their context in order to project a good image of their religions. It seems to me that for these people Bad things cannot be taken literally and out of context, but Good things can be taken literally and out of context. The KEY MESSAGE I want to make is that the holy books of these Godly religions can be moulded into whatever forms that satisfy their religious ego. HENCE, we MUST NOT BELIEVE in them when christians .....etc try to convince you that their God is a loving one by quoting some sound-nice verses from their holy books. hahahhhahhha....................hehehhehheeeeeeeeeeeeee

Had the same problem with you. In contrary, Buddha encourages human to ask.Christianity suppresses using of one's intellect, this is questionable. God is incapable of handling christians using intellect ????

I have already said you just pick one line, and use it to portray your cause. And your views are out of context.
Example:
I feel you have lied to me. Rightly or wrong is not known.

Thats how your one line quotes have been picked by you and you got the wrong impression. When you read things, read carefully, and try to get the whole story, not just a piece.
