benitez's priorities have always been the epl first then champions league.
liverpools record against villa in the last 5 games reads, 3 wins and 2 draws. Villa scoring only once in those 5 encounters.
I expect the same lineup that won against arsenal to start. Maybe only Traore coming back in to replace Pongolle, with Risse pushed up to midfield. -
I do hope they can put up the same fighting spirit as they are against Arsenal and emerged the winner

interesting fact- villa has only lost once at home all season and liverpool has only won once away all season. so things not looking too good for liverpool.

If I'm Benitez , I'll play Alonso as sub , replace him with Biscan !
Alonso is our key man for that UCL tie .
Villa is a weakened side without Hendrie and Hitzerberger , but still a side that emphasis on tough defense , i see a tough British style of play from Villa .

if things don't work out , I'll try to replace Sinama , and play Mellor upfront alone , and play a 5-men Gerrad , Alonso , Risse, Hamann and Biscan in the middle of the park .
Play with a congested midfield , and cripple their attack options , and catch tem on the break .
