Aimar eyes reunion with Benitez

Valencia midfielder Pablo Aimar wants former boss Rafael Benitez to sign him for Liverpool.
The 25-year-old Argentine is not a regular in the Valencia side under Claudio Ranieri, the former Chelsea manager.
He is now ready to quit Spain, with a move to the Barclays Premiership top of his wish list.
'This season I am not happy at Valencia,' the midfielder told the Daily Star.
'I do not understand why I have not been playing. Ranieri has not told me the reasons but I am obviously not part of his plans.
'Rafa Benitez is an excellent coach who knows me very well and Liverpool would be an ideal place to go if I cannot sort out my future here.
'From what I can see, English football is the best in Europe next to Spain and I do not think I would have a problem adapting to the Premiership.'

Aimar is a backup for Stevie Gerard.
He will not be bought during the jan transfer window as Liverpool does not have sufficient funds.
So, with the limited money, Liverpool may end up getting NO ONE. -

and AIMAR is NO way a replacement for Stevie G. They are totally different type of players. -
I agree with RSP , loan deal is a good option , with a further option of signing him permenantly , by the time , our financial availability will be better off , depending how far we go with the UCL....

It b a good signing for liverpool, but I think aimar is suspect on the fitness side also he's got a long history of being injury prone.
Even if liverpool do have the funds to sign him, do u think he can fit into the EPL style? It took Pires 2 yrs to settle over in Arsenal, Reyes is finding out the hard way this season, Veron was a flop over at Man Utd, showing flashes of his brilliance. South Americans doesn't suit the EPL style, n the bedding time for Aimar will b considerable longer as compared with said Moriente.
Still it b great 2 see Aimar under Benitez ala Valencia. But still qualification for next yr's ECL is a must, else u lose SG over the summer...regardless of wat he said now. -

On Valencia's official supporters site this news has appeared: Late on Monday evening, a formal offer for Pablo Aimar from Liverpool FC has arrived at Valencia's office in order to sign the player in January 2005.
This has been confirmed by Valencia official, Agustin Morera. "The offer made by the team coached by Rafa Benitez is formal and firm, and is very much near the 12M Euro mark."
In the next hours, there will be an urgent meeting of the Valencia CF board to speak about this matter, the continuity of Aimar depends exclusively to Ranieri who if guaranteed a similar substitute, Aimar could be leaving Valencia in a matter of hours.

I remember when L'pool played Valencia in a UCL fixture a few seasons back , this Aimar really tormented us , no L'pool player can seem to stop him .
Now he's joining us , let him torment others .....
And pray hard other EPL team dun hijack him , especially Chelsea , MU and Arsenal . -
Aimar is not worth the money. Harry Kewell also tormented defences while he was with Leeds There must be a reason why Claudio is not playing Aimar.

I don't mind Garcia being part of the deal too... he can't leave in Jan but he can leave in the summer...
Aimar is, in my opinion, one of the best midfielders in the world... If he can torment Liverpool whenever Valencia plays Liverpool, he should be no problem dealing with the rest of the EPL teams... -
