We need our captain for the UCL , the title challenge and the next game , etc....
He'll stay for his rest of his career at Anfield , nowhere else !
No doubt he scored an own goal last night , he did brought us the 4th Spot last season . Kudos to him ! That own goal will do him a million good , he'll be stronger , that's what we need from him - Stronger !!!
Bear no grudges , me..... and maybe all of us here , will support Stevie Gee and Liverpool FC !

Liverpool is a TEAM and NOT Steven Gerrard.
Ah Ben should rest him for the next three games.
Give him some time to pack his bags.
Without Gerrard, Liverpool is playing better and not dependent on any player.
With a Soul-less Gerrard, we lost the midfield dominance.
Liverpool still housed the mentality of the single player saviour.
Owen is GONE and Gerrard should go also.
A good mid-fielder should provide CONSISTENT performance and inspire players to WIN like Roy Keane, Patrick Vieria and Frank Lampard.
Therefore, SG have failed in the field of consistency and leadership.
I am not blaming him for the defeat last night.
What hurts me is that he did not play well and nowhere in bossing the midfield.
Where is he last night ?????
Maybe he is pissed that Ah Ben scolded him for BIG Mouth and trying to sabo his own team by not playing well to illustrate his importance.
I guess he choose the wrong time to play mind game with Ah Ben.
Unless Ah Ben is BLIND (in some way in sticking with Garcia), he should part with Stevie next season, or else Liverpool is GONE CASE. -
Its diabolical to blame Stevie G for the Cup final defeat. He has single handledly carried the team on his shoulders far too many times. It was a freak goal all down to poor luck.
Chelsea fans can snigger, that Stevie G had scored his "first goal" as a Chelsea player. But it's only down to bad luck. As long as he is a Liverpool player, Stevie G is through and through Merseyside Red. -
It's a real bad time to score an own goal , especially with those speculations and rumours hanging around the headlines.
As what they always say : wrong time , wrong place , wrong person and to the wrong team (Chelsea ) .
Whether or not that own goal is a setback for Gerrard , we will see from the Newcastle versus L'pool match .
I got a gutsy feeling SG will score the winner and shut those critics down . -
SG is a red thoroughly, but still his performance that day seemed to tell otherwise.
He's lacking concentration.
That's good for non-Liverpool fans.

By now all of us shd've read wat he told the Liverpool Echo:
"We have to stay focused on qualifying for the Champions League. If we come fourth it will feel like we have won a cup final now because Everton have a big lead over us.

Chelsea will always be the top contender , because of the money they can offer to SG , and are said to be offering "EPL unprecedented amount to an English player by an English club " , said to be about 120,000 per week , compare to his current 55,000 per week at Anfield .

Gerrard should leave and not drag Liverpool down. the uncertainity over Gerrard's future seem to cast a shadow around anfield. they aren't playing their best football and this shouldn't be the case. So Gerrard, if you think you're too good for the current Liverpool side, please leave. If not, commit and future to Liverpool and we'll start rebuilding from there.

Just sell SG... I see no point in keeping a player whose heart is somewhere else.
Selling SG will also generate transfer money and that will enable Ah Ben to buy better, efficient & Profilic players -

AND, liverpool play better without him. benitez sounds like SG is the only good player in the team, without him will die. that's not good for any team -
