Valencia 'negotiating' Baros transfer
Valencia president Juan Soler claims he is in talks with Liverpool striker Milan Baros.
Soler told Valencia-based Radio 9 that the Czech Republic international was one of several targets for the summer as the Spanish side attempt to strengthen following a disappointing season.
He said: 'We are negotiating with the Czech (Baros) and with four or five players of the same quality.
'These players are from Europe and South America and we are trying to do things in plenty of time, both with Baros and with the others.'
Baros had a successful European Championships last year but has struggled for consistency for the Reds this season.
The 23-year-old, who arrived at Anfield in 2001 from Banik Ostrava, has previously been linked to moves away from the Premiership.
Valencia are rebuilding after Claudio Ranieri's unsuccessful spell as manager. The former Chelsea boss embarked on a spending spree in the summer with the likes of Marco Di Vaio, Bernardo Corradi and Stefano Fiore all arriving at the Mestalla.
But the policy of recruiting Italian players failed to reap the required rewards and Ranieri was sacked.
And Soler admitted several members of the first team squad would be leaving at the end of the current campaign.
He added: 'Some of the players who are coming are going to replace those who are already here, so it is for the best that we do not speak too much about the subject.
'I don't want the team to lose concentration as we aim for our objective of returning to Europe.'
Or it's this just a speculation ?

well i feel that Baros isn't able to reproduce his euro 2004 form and he isn't such a prolific striker. Although he's fast, he runs with his heads down and isn't aware of his surroundings. If we are able to get a better striker, why not?

If Baros is too big-headed for his own good, then there is no point for Ah Ben to retain him.
If the bust-up with Ah Ben about the substitution is true during League Cup is true, I believe he is on the way out.
Lots of players are leaving also:
Simcer, Kewell, Diouf, Dudek, Kirkland, Josemi, Pellegerino, Cheyrou, Gerrard....
I think Ah Ben will be clearing house to remove the inconsistency in the present Liverpool team.
Have to trust the Manager.
He already created some miracle with so much injuries. -
i believe RB will trade him for someone from valencia, hopefully pablo aimar. hope he bring back owen too

I feel that our current strikers are enough, provided they all fit lah...
Morientes, Baros and Cisse to rotate for the 2 striking role each game and also to cover when injured.
Pongolle is up and coming and should be in the reserve for most games and bring on if we are winning comfortably or in like league cupgames.
Preferably we should have 3 world class proven strikers and one very high potential youngster to rotate around.
4 world class proven strikers are too much.
So if Baros go, please bring in another proven striker please.... -

baros looks likelier to leave any moment now than before and seriously i agree with the statement that he runs with his head down. he simply bulldozes his way past defences without sparing a thought for other team mates in better positions
mellor's good but slow
pongolle's fast but inexperienced
cisse's class but injured
morienties' proven but yet to produce
it'll be good if (really) valencia are negotiating for baros.. we can trade him there and get back (probably) aimar or mista with some $$$ -
the way i look at it, i still rather have baros than owen
BUT looking at his overall play... the only disappointing thing about him is that he plays with his head down, which results in alot of lost chances.
Other than that, i've read reports about him wanting to leave. To me, players like these should just leave, no matter how good. If the desire to leave is there, what's the point in staying? -
