[b]Ferguson: Vieira seems 'immune'
Sir Alex Ferguson insisted Patrick Vieira had an apparent 'immunity' from referees which prevented him from being sent off before striking the penalty that secured the FA Cup for Arsenal.
Referee Rob Styles sent off Jose Antonio Reyes in the final minute of extra-time before the first shoot-out in 133 years of FA Cup final history went Arsenal's way.
However, Ferguson believes the official, whose high red card tally came under scrutiny before kick-off, should also have dismissed Vieira.
The Arsenal captain was booked near the end of extra-time for a tackle on Cristiano Ronaldo but then escaped a second caution for another foul on Wayne Rooney.
Ferguson, who also accused Arsenal of 'boring' tactics and playing for penalties, declared: 'He could have maybe sent off Vieira.
'But Patrick seems to have an immunity to these kind of things so I'm not surprised. These games are very difficult for referees. Where do they start or stop?
'There were a lot of fouls and I don't think there were any really bad ones, although Reyes was perhaps a bit lucky not to be sent off for his tackle on Mikael Silvestre.
'You don't want to see players sent off in the final but referees are only human beings.'
Vieira's last domestic dismissal was, ironically, at Old Trafford last season when he clashed with Ruud van Nistelrooy, although he was sent off in the Champions League earlier in this campaign.
Ferguson could nevertheless be excused a feeling of deep frustration at United's defeat, having dominated the entire game, which ended goalless.
A bit sour at times .

yeah. agree x 2!Originally posted by dragg:yesterday's match brought back memories of man u's UCL win against bayern munich.
they did not deserve to win the championship.
schmeicel was in top form. bayern hit the woodwork a few times too.
arsenal totally did not deserve to win. nonetheless i feel good because man u had a taste of their own medicine.
At a neutral point of view , Reyes also one kind la.....Originally posted by 798:i think that bapok ronaldo is a diver, keep diving and caused reyes to be red card!
pui!
m glad that heaven got eyes! MU dun deserve it!
this ronaldo keep falling like a sissy. if i am reyes, i will continue kicking him when he is down.Originally posted by Poolman:At a neutral point of view , Reyes also one kind la.....
I sometimes doubt his temperament .
That second half tackle on Brown ? or Silvestre ? That earns him a yellow , that one un-necessary la .
So don't blame that Ronaldo for diving , if not for that un-necessary tackle earlier , the red-card never happen la , right ?
agree x 2! MU cant even win wif 4 strikers and 11 players.Originally posted by X-men:being neither a Arsenal or ManU fan, I personally think that ManU should have won the game in regular time.
But then again this is soccer, you don't make your chances count, it will be back to hurt you.... real bad.
Fregie said Wenger used boring tactics.... but I think its a good tactic knowing that fact that Arsenal does not have the fire power of Henry.
It's a night of Jens Lehmann, not only he save a few 'sure' goals from ManU, he also save Scholes's penalty.

Martin Tylor is still ok, but Martin Lawrenson just kept rattling on rough Arsenal was playing while keep mumm about manures' vicious tackles.
