Baggies join in chase for Johnson
West Brom have offered £2m plus Robert Earnshaw for Crystal Palace striker Andy Johnson, according to reports.
Palace chairman Simon Jordan is understood to have rejected the offer from the Baggies, one of a number clubs interested in the 24-year-old.
Birmingham chairman David Gold admitted on Thursday that his club would like to re-sign Johnson.
Johnson has insisted that he will stay with Palace, despite the club being relegated from the Premiership.
West Brom narrowly avoided relegation and chairman Jeremy Peace has pledged to strengthen the squad, saying he envisages about five players coming in.
Gold admitted that he has yet to talk to manager Steve Bruce about Johnson but said the name would "crop up in conversation like any other top striker".
Johnson joined Palace from Birmingham three years ago as part of the deal to sign Clinton Morrison.
Think Benitez should be making a move after 25th ! -

4 million pounds and a 25,000 pounds per week to Johnson will certainly be good to Palace & Johnson . -
i dont think johnson will make it at anfield
he's good at crystal palace becoz (sorry for offence) hes at a so-called mediocre team. and he's a good player
but i don't think he's good enough for the stronger sides like liverpool, newcastle etc.
but if he comes cheap, 2 or 3 million, than i tink he'll make a good backup to moro and cisse -

When we need to play EPL , UCL , FA Cup , Worthington Cup ..... Baros , Nando and Cisse is not enuf . Pongelle is 21 and good , but raw ! We need a physical body for some games in EPL .
