Sevilla starlet tipped for Anfield move
Teenage Sevilla full-back Antonio Barragan is on the verge of a move to Champions League winners Liverpool, according to the Spanish club.
Barragan, 18, has not yet played for the Sevilla first team, but he is said to have caught the attention of Liverpool with his displays at youth level.
He rejected the chance to sign a professional contract in Spain, and Sevilla sporting director Ramon Rodriguez said today: 'He has been negotiating with Liverpool for the past six months.
'The FIFA rules regarding young players who do not have professional contracts have favoured us on many occasions and this time it is Liverpool who have taken advantage of them to take the player.
'We tried to keep him, but the player has freely chosen another route. We have looked after him, but he has decided to leave Sevilla.'
Barragan will add competition to the right side of Liverpool's defence.
Republic of Ireland international Steve Finnan has been first choice at right-back for the past two seasons, while another Spaniard, Josemi, provides a further option.
that is because Figo is under the buy-out clause in Barca. Its painful that Barca has to let go off him unwillingly and sux thumb.Originally posted by kopiosatu:Real and Barca did do business...

RAFA: 4 SIGNED, 2 OR 3 MORE TO COME
Rafael Benitez has today confirmed he has signed four new players ahead of the start of next season - with the promise of two or three more to come before the end of the week.
Dutch star Bolo Zenden was officially unveiled as a Liverpool player this afternoon after completing his free transfer from Middlesbrough and he could make his debut in Saturday's friendly at Wrexham.
Benitez also revealed the club have now completed the signing of goalkeeper Jose Reina from Villareal while Mark Gonzales has signed from Albacete and young right back Antonio Barragan has arrived from Sevilla.
The Liverpool boss said: "We have today introduced Bolo Zenden as a Liverpool player but we have also signed Jose Reina, the best goalkeeper in Spain, Mark Gonzales, the best player in Chile and Antonio Barragan.
"We will be signing two or three more players this week."
