half time. liverpool trailing by one goal.
i must say its a very strange lineup with finnan on the right wing and garcias playing striker with morientes.
as usual, josemi is pretty screwed up playing right back and i can only see him panting thruout the game. hardly any creativity from two right backs filling the flank.
on the other side, i think zenden and riise are having some kinda lover tiff as they are not passing to one another, particularly riise to zenden. think zenden ran out of breathe as both of them switched roles when the game is approaching half time.
yeah, u got it right. zenden was playing left back and quite fark up.
morientes, being the target man, played quite well as supporting striker, while garcias is not doing his part to finish them off. he could have equalized the deficit pretty instantly and chose to squander most of his chances thruout the second half.
somehow, i think the first half was quite a messy mass orgy out there. hardly any player is playing his role right.
let's see how the second half goes. -
3-1, after extra time.
extremely flattering scoreline. even tho liverpool has got more possessions and shot on goals, CSKA moscow was easily the better team on the pitch.
liverpool had all the luck in that game and had to equalize with a handball from cisse. then it was cisse again, playing one-two with the keeper to clinch the winner. the result was sealed with garcias pounding in a header from point blank.
its another day in which the deserving team doesnt win.
nevertheless, one question really haunt me thruout the game.
is josemi some kinda distant relative to benitez? with his sorta performance out on th field, i am overwhelmingly surprised why none of the substitutes came on for him!
i would have felt less frustrated if liverpool played with 10 men without him. feel rather embarassed to be wearing no. 17 jersey for the last decade. -

I think you are too harsh on Liverpool , I think overall we deserved the victory. Definately we have to play better against stronger opponents with due respect to CSKA . Hopefully this is a sign of things to come. Already we have a silverware over bitter rivals other then Chelsea, hopefully we can add more .Originally posted by www:3-1, after extra time.

Somebody should feedback to UEFA to upsize the Super Cup Trophy.
It is a joke seeing the Liverpool players struggling to hold a small and slim cup up and around the stadium.
No one seems want to hold the cup or comfortable running round the stadium holding the Cup.
