Liverpool's Benitez revives bid for Valencia star Aimar
Liverpool boss Rafa Benitez is reviving his bid for Valencia playmaker Pablo Aimar.
The Sun says Benitez has made Argie midfield superstar Aimar his No 1 summer target. He had an inquiry for the Valencia ace turned down at Christmas.
But unsettled Aimar, 25, is keen on a switch to the European champions. the midfielder is disappointed with last season's campaign which saw him spend a large part of it on the bench.
Valencia president Juan Soler and new sports director Javier Subirats may seek to cash in on the Argentine to fund a summer bid for a new, top class striker for coach Quique Sanchez Flores, who was appointed on Monday. -

That day Benitez said Gerrad , Alonso , Garcia and Morientes makes the core of the team , now he wants Aimar , who played the same position as Garcia !
Nice to hear this but.... unlikely and doubtful . -
aimar can't play in the liverpool midfield la seriously.unless u move gerrard to the right hand side of midfield or play a 4-3-3..and also becuz south american players espeically the creative ones,dun seem to cut it in the epl.

actually i thought that gerrard's best position is not the centre of midfield but actually the right. i feel he is one of the best crossers of the ball.

After the Champion League win, a lot of ya ya papaya players are claiming to come to Liverpool to take over some football position.
One of the most prominent guy is the Reina guy.
Dunno how good is him, he just yakking to the Media that he can topple Dudek.
Hope he is not doing it to attract attention to other club to gain a higher salary.
Just wish Ah Ben can sign some QUIET players that play GOOD soccer like Alonso.
Not to sign some BIG-MOUTH and No-Skill players.
The point is not to waste $$$.
Liverpool already have one player with excellent groin control at the CL Final and was seem hoping around and Running around during the award presentation. -
Actually signing AImar could be because Beni wants to play this formation at times, this formation works wonders at certain matches esp in European ones...

Whatever it is, I would be glad if they sign the following players to make a team of depth
1) vicente (speedy...better than kewell definitely)
2) Evra (one of the best currently, can provide some reassurance. Traore done well but can give heart attack at times)
3) Aimar (who wouldnt want him in a squad. Good to have. Frankly we lack a player like him. He could be what Kaka or Rui Costa is to Milan, what Malbranque is to Fulham.)
4) Kuyt (we need a proven striker. 69 goals in 3 seasons. No mean feat. Just hope he doesnt end up like Kezman)
5) Milito or Upson (we need cover for Hypia and Carragher, and these 2 are good enuff for us)

3. Marek Mintal
4. Joaquin
5. Baraja
6. Torres

If he's that good , Real will never release him .
I personally felt that the current Raul is no longer the Raul we knew , the goal scoring machine .
I've seen him in various occasion on TV , so-so only .
It's a risk for us to sign him . His wages demand may be a stumbling block too .
I don't think he'll ever leave Real . And being Perez's favourite son , he will be the last person to be on the list .
If he ever leave Real , Luxembargo will be ahead of him to be chopped .
So......."NO" to Raul .
Anyway 15 million for Raul ? Not a worthy deal .
