I thought Biscan , being 27 years old , is the most ideal choice to replace Hamann after Hamann retires at 33 ! By the time , Biscan is 29 , and it's the best time of his life .
Maybe Biscan thinks that at 27 , with a few years left of his playing career , he ought to play regulary , not at the bench .

Dun forget he came in n transformed the game for us in the UCL finals....he's proven his worth! Tat's the least he deserves.

Since Hamann and Biscan play the same positions, so when it is up to choose between them two, they would have weighed everything. Apparently they valued Hamann's experience over Biscan's "youth". Also possibly they felt that was the best from Biscan they had seen and it was not enough to retain him? Whatever the reasons may be, wish Biscan all the best. And VERY HAPPY FOR HAMANN!!! He is my favourite player, I even took a pic with his jersey in the Anfield home shower-room (since I did not have the chance to meet him
