Liverpool to seal deal for Bolton's Stelios this week

Greek media reports say Liverpool and Bolton Wanderers have agreed a fee for midfielder Stelios Giannakopoulos.
It's been suggested a deal worth £1.2 million will see Stelios move to Anfield, with an announcement to be made this week.
Stelios' Bolton contract is believed to have a buyout clause allowing him to move to a bigger club for such a low valuation.

The French international wants a move to the Premiership and Liverpool hope to tie up a swap deal involving Milan Baros.
Lyon chairman Jean-Michel Aulas said: "After what Sydney has done for the club, he has the right to go."

Liverpool have told the advisors of Real Madrid star Luis Figo he must drop his wage demands if he wants to move to Anfield.
Figo has received the same message from West Ham as he seeks £90,000-a-week to move to the Premiership this summer.
The Portugal international's representatives say an announcement could be made this week regarding his future - with Stuttgart also in the frame. -

Liverpool will make a contract offer to Middlesbrough winger Bolo Zenden this week.
The midfielder, 28, becomes a free agent on Friday after failing to agree a new contract at Middlesbrough. Benfica have been chasing him while Valencia, Werder Bremen and Galatasaray are also tracking Zenden.
But Kop boss Rafa Benitez plans to pip the rest by holding talks with the Dutchman in the next few days.
Boro want him to stay but Zenden's father, who is also his agent, believes he will agree a move within a week.
His dad Pierre insisted: "Money is not an issue for Boudewijn but where the club stands in terms of Champions League or UEFA Cup is really important.
"Boudewijn has had a great time at Middlesbrough.
"He would like to continue there but we don't know what will happen yet.
"We expect to announce something next week." -
Liverpool consider shock move for Everton target Arteta

Liverpool boss Rafa Benitez is weighing up a shock move for Real Sociedad midfielder Mikel Arteta.
The Spanish U21 international has failed to agree personal terms with Everton and admits he's likely to start the preseason back in San Sebastian.
However, the Daily Post says Benitez has been monitoring the situation and could move to trump his Merseyside rivals for ex-Rangers midfield schemer Arteta if the Everton deadlock continues. -

Liverpool is not retirement home for super sub.
The money is better invested in young players.
Figo would be a good choice as we need a midfielder with VISION.
As for strikers, the department is full liao lah. -
The way Stevie is stalling his contract negotiation with the REDS, I think it is better that Liverpool part way with him and get the 30 million pounds to buy other players.
The media is projecting him like a big star trying to have things in own way and threatening to go RM.
Let Jamie be the NEW captain.
If we can get another midfielder with more consistency and vision, Gerrard can go.
He already get his CL medal. -
The problem with Stevie G is his mentality and consistency. If he performs, the team will perform. But if he decide to stroll along, the team keng with him.....this cannot continue.....

Rafael Benitez will make his first summer signing on Monday when Boudewijn Zenden completes his free transfer move from Middlesbrough.
Liverpool have confirmed that Zenden has passed a medical at Anfield and will sign his contract with the Reds on Monday morning.
Zenden's contract at the Riverside Stadium expired at the end of June and the Dutch international has jumped at the opportunity to link up with Rafael Benitez's European champions on a free transfer.
The 28 year old will sign his contract in time to be eligible for the start of Liverpool's Champions League qualification campaign on July 13.
Liverpool spokesman Ian Cotton said: "Bolo Zenden has passed his medical. We have reached an agreement with the player and expect the contract to be signed on Monday morning.
"He will then be introduced at a press conference later that afternoon."
Good or bad move.... we shall see. -
Stelios will be a good buy. He's proven in the EPL. Aggressive winger with the knack to score good goals. A sum of 1 million odd will be good business.
Figo will be a good buy if the player and club manage to negotiate personal wage demands. If I were Figo, settle for a lower wage. Afterall, he's probably earned enough for his retirement. Get onboard the Rafalution. Figo, with his vast experience and talent will certainly strengthen the reds. Age is not a problem. Remember McCallister.
Im skeptical abt Govou. He's perharps the biggest risk of the 3 players mentioned here. -

look like figo voicing his unhappiness when he was benched, doubting Luxemburgo's decisions, and it seems like hes unwilling to lower his wage demands

figo is damn good la.even his dribbling tactic seems ageless.i always love the the part when he dribbles to the by line,fakes a a cross,cuts back den either repeats it or crosses..and defenders always falls for it..and his crossing is damn accurate although liverpool lacks a big man to put it in..and baros seems to flimsy..
