Zenden joins Liverpool for freehttp://soccernet.espn.go.com/headlinenews?id=336488&cc=4716
Liverpool will complete the signing of Dutch midfielder Boudewijn Zenden on Monday.
Zenden, who is out of contract at Middlesbrough, has passed a Liverpool medical and will complete formalities on Monday morning.
The 28-year-old, who has spent the past two seasons at The Riverside after joining Chelsea in 2001, will be eligible for the start of Liverpool's Champions League campaign on July 13.
Liverpool spokesman Ian Cotton said: 'Bolo Zenden has passed his medical. We have reached an agreement with the player and expect the contract to be signed on Monday morning.
'He will then be introduced at a press conference later that afternoon.'
i hope everton's success is not a one-off thing.Originally posted by the Bear:i dunno.. forlan was "useless" in MUFC and look at him now
a player is as good as the game plan...
look at Everton.. they don't have big names but look what they have achieved!
he is adopting bolton's idea of signing players for free. look at bolton. one of the poorest club in premiership yet so successful.Originally posted by Medicated Oil:GH have sign Kewell with too much cash problems.
Kewell have never actually contributed much to Liverpool's progress for the past two season.
Now, Ah Ben have problems in offloading him.
As for Zenden, he will be a good asset as he will be playing hard to qualify for the World Cup.
Furthermore, he is FREE like MacAllister.
Liverpool need to bolster the midfield area.
I think Ah Ben is still sticking with his 3-5-1 tactics.
Kewell is a mistake... i think they will let me go for free now that Zenden is in... better to let him free than to pay for his exhorbitant wages....Originally posted by Medicated Oil:GH have sign Kewell with too much cash problems.

Certainly NOT me!Originally posted by RSP:Zenden is a proven winger in England with Boro and he's pushing hard for a place in Van Basten's Dutch team.
His arrival will strengthen the left side of midfield where Risse has been the only notable player last season. Kewell's been disappointing and Garcia's position was not so much on the left wing.
And the best part of the deal is that we got him on a free transfer.
Now, who's complaining?
