Steven Gerrard confirm leaving LFC

Liverpool FC today issued the following press statement regarding Steven Gerrard.
"The club has made it crystal clear we want to keep Steven at Anfield. Sadly, he has told us this afternoon that he will not accept our offer of an improved and extended contract because he wants to leave Liverpool. We very much regret the decision he has taken."
Ok. At least now everything is clear. Now let's see if Rafa is the real deal. With the money, we should be able to buy at least 3 top-class players to fill in those weak areas, like left-back and striker. Good. -

The 'unthinkable' has happened and we wish all the best to Stevvie in his new footballing pasture. There were inconsistency in his games in recent times but all in all, he raised to the occasion when needed to and definately played his heart out for the club he loved since boyhood.
Yes, the money from his sale will definately come in real handy now for Benny to bolster the squad with quality and committed players.

With or without Gerrard , Chelsea's already a good team , only difference , Chelsea can be better in Europe , that's all .
It means nothing to LFC if Chelsea got Gerrard .
We'll not get the Title under their noses next season , maybe three to five yrs , not next season .
But that 32 or more million pounds make a BL00DY big difference to Benitez .
Gerrad will contribute 5 to 6 years more at top level football , but that 32 millions or more pound can actually generate more and various younger players that can play longer period than Stevie Gee .
Now it looked like we'll see Hamman & Alonso partnership in midfield .

True enuff Poolman. At the end of the day, football is a team game and the 11 players out there has to do his part to make it happen.
Actually, I'm eager to see how Benny deploy his tactical gameplan now since the team used to play around SG, sort of. Too much of counter attacks, long punts and strikers devoid of crosses from the width.
I have a feeling LFC will play to a tighter and more compact game with buildups and widths now. While SG is industrious and hard tackling... Alonso on the other hand is clever and have excellent range of passes. That'll be exciting to watch.
