Newcastle United manager Graeme Souness has confirmed his interest in Liverpool's Sami Hyypia.
The Magpies chief is desperate to add an experienced defender to his squad and the Finn is an obvious attraction.
Liverpool have offered a new deal to Hyypia, but he has not yet signed it, which has given Newcastle some hope.
However, Souness has revealed that he is not willing to give Hyypia a long-term contract at St James' Park.
"I do admire Sami," Souness confirmed.
"But I think he wants a three-year contract and that's not something we'd be willing to do. But I do like him."
Anyway , one year or three years contract , Sami is not for sale at any price .
You'll be lucky if you can get Sami , even at a five years contract .
Sami's quality is for us to see , even at the age of 40 , he'll be anytime better than your Bramble etc....
bramble is a block of wood.
i thought hyypia is quite a good player... why sell?
it's be better liverpool sell cisse and kewell.
