Sunderland's back four was outpaced most of the time in their opening match with Charlton. Pace and clinical finishing from the LFC strikers will see off Sunderland. It will be incentive and morale boosting for the players to play their best for the opening game at home.

If Sunderland played the way Wigan played Chelsea last Sunday..... we're in trouble !
Not that we're no good , but the attitude of those Wigan's was fantastic that night , we don't need Sunderland to have that kind of mental strength playing against us .
If underdogs can play like that , then i'll rather be a underdog .
It's the very last thing we need . -

if liverpool is as good as it promises it should be an easy win. -
homeground and almost a good squad to choose from.
champions are determined by how well they can draw points from weak teams.
if they cant overcome such a task with what they have this sunday, they can forget all about EPL (again) this season. -
actually the premiership has reached a stage where every game must be won, home and away.

If available , I hope to see him replacing Morientes in that Tower role ! We need Nando for that CSKA match next Wednesday ! Crouch Partnering Cisse in attack ! Winning those aerial balls for Cisse . -
Thot he's still injured.....n even if well, suspended; so no Crouch for sure!
It shd be a 4-4-2 tomolo with Nano and Cisse leading the attack! Really hope 2 see alot of goals....hopefully in our favour of course! -

Two games with 10 men opponents remaining.
Liverpool seems to have BIG difficulties in scoring goals as the two or one striker is HEAVILY MARKED.
Although a win tonight, Liverpool have given Sunderland a lot of respect and play with a lot of caution.
They must be saving strength for the CL fixture next Tuesday and UEFA Supercup Next Friday.
Momo is playing a good game.
But, Alonso dun seem to be doing a good job as Hamann for a holding Midfielder in holding and distributing the ball.
Moro is struggling with the tight marking.
Getting a bit worried about the new team. -
a VERY disappointing match.
Still the problem of lacking firepower. So many chances wasted. Like I said many times, if those chances are not converted, its still going to hurt Liverpool... today, we are lucky. What IF Sunderland scores a late goal? -
I agree with medicated oil , I share with his comments.
I am extremely disappointed with Ciise's misses . Carry on like this ,he should be dropped from the first team. Not the first time he missed chances like this , looks like we need Michael Owen back or not ! I hope Liverpool will play better in the next game . -

Pool lacked ideas upfront.
Luis Garcia was trying to be somone he wasnt.Trying to play fanciful football but alwaz end up losing the ball. -
LFC could have killed the game much earlier on but was let down with the finishing and misses. Gee.. these days, that seems to be main course.
Seems like LFC were stuck in first gear or some sort cos we never look to threaten overall. It was not a bad game but it just never got off to second gear and more. Like what Medicated Oli has pointed out, the CL games ahead might be the main reason why the tempo was not upped.
Despite Cisse's attempt to play the right wing, it was terrible. He's not tactically used to the right and it showed. Ball distribution was poor and there wasn't much serious throbbing at the defense. But nice haircut huh?
I particularly liked Sissoko's performance. He looked as if he's getting better once he plays more EPL matches. Tacklings were time better and there are decent shots at goal as well. This lad has a bright future and LFC will benefit alot from this young chap.
Well, 3 points in the bag.

More like they lacked the sharpness in front of goal. Nando had a header screwed at the side while Cisse did the same with a attempted volley.
