I really do not understand why Benitez lodge bids only on the last day? By going for Simao and nobby at the same time, nobby will not take a chance just in case we sign Simao and he is left stranded. he definately would have choosen for a return to Toon. In the case of Simao, when Benfica knows that we are desperate for a RM, wouldn't they jack up the price? Thats business for you and Benitez screwed up big time. Talking abt brinkmanship, do u really think we could outsmart Real for Owen? With their financial might, they would rather let Owen languish in the reserves than sell him on the cheap. I couldnt blame Owen for opting to go Toon, where he will feel wanted. He needs the confidence in a WC year.
