Cisse sick as a parrot as exotic bird.is nicked
Liverpool footballer Djibril Cisse is likely to be sick as a parrot after thieves stole his exotic bird.
The French striker was due to take delivery of a £600 African Grey parrot from a pet shop in Tarvin, Cheshire, this week.
But thieves struck at the shop on Monday night and stole the one-year-old bird, along with another African Grey.
They entered the building by smashing a 3ft square hole in a solid stone wall 18ins thick.
Manager Anne Craven said: 'One of the birds was a shop pet, called Golly Grey. The other was due to be delivered to a well-known Liverpool player.
'Unfortunately, he will have to wait until later this year until we can get him another.
'The one that was due to leave us was a lovely little bird. She would climb over everybody and smother them in kisses.
'She came in to us in quite a distressed state but she had really grown in confidence.
'We never sell animals to people who can't look after them, so it is horrible to think of both of them being sold to any Tom, Dick or Harry.'
