Liverpool manager Rafael Benitez refused to criticise his players after watching them crash out of the Carling Cup at Championship club Crystal Palace.
'I cannot say anything about [tonight],' Benitez insisted. 'I know we lost the game, but the team worked hard and created opportunities. You cannot attack the players if they work hard. We started the game well tonight.
'We made some mistakes in defence, and that is the reason we lost this match. And even though we made chances, we failed to take them.'

Oh well, kinda expected the result. So, really didn't feel that sad. In fact, won a bit of money by betting on Crystal Palace to win.
RB always have the same excuses. It shows his lack of idea on how to improve the team. Soon enough, someone's going to pick on it and there'll be an uproar.
Read the reports around the internet. He said he insist that his preferred style of playing is definitely more suitable that what the EPL demands. I read that line, I know it's a gone case. This guy is stubborn.
I guess we need an EPL coach and deploy RB as Europe coach. Then, Liverpool will improve. Otherwise, prepare for more losses. -

Ah Ben did not deployed his full strength squad as he have the Champion League match next week in mind.
He is afraid of losing.
But, his plan backfired.
So, what do you expect from a team that is formed last minute with the players not sync ?

well.. when the European champions couldnt finish in top 5 the last season,
i knew they were going to be in a lot of pressure this season
they had to play qualifying rounds to be in the champions league, oh my, they are the defending champions !
their league form is always inconsistent
strong midfield but gerrard has too much responsibilities
cisse is far too selfish to cross or pass the ball, he always go for glory instead of passing to teammates,
whacked by Chelsea at Anfield, however they didnt have any solutions to it

Anyway, I know LFC were crap. Whether or not they played reserves or first team, they were poor and deserved to lose. Good thing is they have one less distraction and hopefuly and concentrate more on their form in the EPL. -
think its time Benitez takes out the whip.
Seems to me that he is happy as long as his players got run about. -

dont believe everything i read? i am sure most of the things we know are from what we hear or read from tv or news.

I think its pretty obvious that LFC put out a virtual reserve team at Palace.
Even from reading the lineup on the newspapers or internet, you don't need to be Einstein to figure that out.
