Give that man a break, he won liverpool the CL in his first season, and almost won the league cup against chelsea, and also won the super cup the following season. it looks like epl title is out of reach yet again, but give that man a few more seasons and then judge him.
Anyway liverpool is certainly not equipped to challenge for the title not only this season, but the season after and after.
to be challengers, you need good players in the squad all round and the dept in squad as well to cope with off form and injuries.
If the youth academy is doing its job, a youth player a season promoted to the senior side is not bad liao.
rafa said he wanted to buy a centre back and a rite side midfielder isnt it?
why not buy heitinga(ajax centreback), wesley sneider, ricardo querema(porto young exciting winger) when the transfer window opens in Jan 06. try dutch and brazilian players, they are damn good

how many years did SAF won his first cup, not to mention the league title it took 4 years to win his first fa cup in 1990, 7 years to win his first league title in 1993 and 13 years to win his first european cup in 1999.

Coming back from a 3-0 scoreline against mighty AC Milan and win the match, that's a huge respect for the players and Rafa. Personally, it beats the Man Utd vs Bayern Munich in terms of sheer grit and determination to turn the result around. With 3 goals against LFC at half-time, many believed it's adios.. dead and buried. The rest, as they say.. is history.
Considering Rafa took over a team with not many sparkling players, what was archieved last season proved beyond expectation. Tactically, Rafa is one of the very best out there. The problem it seems... lies in the players. can't fault Gerrard cos when he's in the side, he make things happen.. he drives the team. But, the other players must realized tt they themselves has a part to play.
Rafa has somewhat taken bold steps to recruit players whom never played in EPL before and as happens... there are some players still struggling to adapt to the ruff and tumble of the english game. Sissoka, IMO is a great buy... he's one for the future. Xabi Alonso is another great buy but he needs Gerrard ard to screen him and allowing him to spray passes. Luis Garcia may hv lose hellava possessions but his quick feet and willing to run into spaces are rather useful.
This team lacks the grit and the drive esp when Gerrard is out... we need more english players to fill the void.

I agree. All he needs is time.
Rafa's good but he is not God. LFC fans must have confidence in the manager. Things will come good in time to come. I just have the nigging feeling.

I think what we want from Rafa is to listen from the fans and not insisting to do things his way.
At least if he tried and he failed, we got nothing to say. But at the moment, the entire team looks listless and totally lost. Something is not right.
