EPL : Aston Villa vs Liverpool

Aston Villa played with better commitment after seeing Liverpool playing with no conviction.
The European Champion must be tired after their 3 goal victory during the midweek.
Not a spirited or impressive performance from Liverpool.
Every one played OK, just seems jaded towards the end.
The Captain have to SAVE the day again as usual.
I would agree with Bro Pool on the part that Crouch have make a mess of himself to earn the penalty. -
nvm,the mark of all great teams cum champions is grinding out results when not playing at their best..

In footballing terms , you just can't have too much body contact in the box , and what we're talking here ... is tagging ! Tagging opponents in the box is ..... illegal !
Villa don't deserve to lose , and don't deserve to win either . Villa not doing alot offensively .
Defensively , O'Leary needs more man-power .
Villa's midfield area is alright , but the wing area not good enuf to threaten .
Quite bizzare , why put two small guys ( Philips and Baros ) against two big guy ( Carra & Hyyps ) from L'pool , and later on , another small guy of Angel ?
L'pool did farely alright , in terms of consistency between the matches against WestHam and Anderlecht . -

The lads , i don't felt any fatigue from them leh , they looked alright from the way they played .

overall it's still 3 points in the bag though i feel liverpool deserved to win this match as they have the greater possession and the greater chances. Though the penalty was a fifty-fifty chance, luck was on our side this time. well done reds, first away win of the season!

If Ridgewell is inside L'pool's penalty box , and Crouch leaned on him , i'm sure some ref will give a penalty to Villa . -

Nabei i'm now in the lowest point in being a villa fan, only steven davis is worth talking abt this season. even fulham is better than us now, dunno why the whole midlans so crappy this season

moment. I thought baros played okay today. Well maybe o'leary should have
played lee henrie from the start. His long range shots are always a threat.
And gareth barry i feel is a good player but he has a relatively quiet game today. Then again, maybe they shouldn't have sold vassell. -
abit more possession does not mean anything and liverpool took abit of control of the game during the 1st half but villa dominated the 2nd half and started to blast shots @ Reina And thier lack of quality and first touch make them missing open chances @ goal and really sad that villa lose cause villa @ least deserve a draw to punish the champion of Europe.Originally posted by Poolman:We controlled the game in typical fashion .

though they won liverpool did not actually play well.
against a team as lousy as villa they took 85 mins to score from a penalty. it could easily have ended goalless. -

For us, it's a good result...1st win in 2 yrs - both away n after a European game
We can oso say Crouch won us the game....he cld've scored a couple but no luck. Perhaps someone shd steal MU's diet for Ronaldo....look at him now, physically!

I dunno wat's wrong with Villa but at times, they do play alrite. The goalie was solid 2....but can't say so abt the defence - are some regulars missing?! I tink if O'lily gets his defence rite....u shd see some results; coz the MF and strikers are not bad. I remember tis German chap who can score some good long shots....wat happened 2 him?

Crouch STILL don't worth £7 million. He seriously needs to improve. Looks slow to react when good balls are played to him.
Penalty? No Penalty? Wrong decision? Right decision? well.... this is what soccer is all about. Luck and Ref plays a part too. -
